When one is pretty sure that Santa isn't going to bring it for you, and you don't have a rich relative to buy it for you, one has to provide for one'e self:

Recliners, two each.

8' sofa, one each.

Sony Bravia KDL46Z4100 46" 120Hz 1080p LCD HDTV, one each.

Sony Bravia DAV-HDX576W Home Theater System, one each.

6' HDMI cable, one each.

"The Dark Knight" DVD, one each.

As I'd said previously (in another thread), I've been stimulating the hell out of the economy. Was fun. Movie and teevee watching is going to also be much more fun.

On Monday, I need to call Cox Communications to see about swapping my existing digital cable box for an HD digital cable box.

Woot!

Dude I have that same theater system and a 40" Bravia HDTV. If you need additional cables then hit www.monoprice.com

They have the best prices on a lot of different types of cable (that I've found). I bought 3 HDMI cables from them and 2 audio coaxial on the cheap. All of the cables work as well as any other cable I've purchased from Belkin and other brands.

Since I didn't have my commuting budget to meet this pay period (Christmas break), I had a few extra $$ around to buy myself some nice goodies from the Trolls:

The two leatherettes, CZ: Upper Works, the 3 CZ books in the special, Gord the Rogue, ToA and the 12 d20 Erde mods.

Santa was pretty good to me too. I guess I wasn't the evil b*stard I thought I was this year. I may have another purchase in me yet as well.

I'm probably going to need just one more HDMI cable (for the HD digital box, when I acquire it), and I can get it locally for what I consider to be a fair price. If necessary, I do have a component cable handy, but it just wouldn't be the same.

I've yet to figure out why Sony (and perhaps others) numbered the HDMI ports the way they did--HDMI 1, 3, & 4 on the back, with HDMI 2 on the side of the teevee. The way I see it, the logical way would have been to number the port on the side of the set as HDMI 4.

Hoo Nose?

By the way, "The Black Knight" was awesome. And the HT was rattling the glass in the china cabinet and knocked mail off my shelf. If I hadn't been riveted to the screen, I might have noticed if the sliding glass door was rattling, too...

I think the next movie will be "Dr. Syn: The Scarecrow of Romney Marsh"...
