Doesn't Seem Real...
...That we only have a few days left to grab any Gygaxian products from TLG we don't already possess.
I mean, I've just ordered CZ:Yggsburgh, and I have UW and the ______ Builder series, but there's the other Yggsburgh supplemental stuff I haven't touched yet.
I am really hoping one of my relatives comes through this weekend with a Visa Gift Card or something so I can hit up the remaining sales on here or RPGNow...

Come, my friends,
'Tis not too late to seek a newer world.
Push off, and sitting well in order smite
The sounding furrows; for my purpose holds
To sail beyond the sunset, and the baths
Of all the western stars, until I die.

I have to admit I am glad I have everything I want.
I do wish I could afford that Crusader sub and get the third copy of Yggsburgh. I also wish I could afford to order two more CZ:UW. I'll just have to hope opportunities to pick these up second hand or via internet retailors come along when I have the money to take advantage of them.
(Note: I collect 3 of everything for my 3 kids.)

Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

I think that's awesome--I'm hoping my kids will enjoy the hobby when they're older. If so, I hope to have plenty to hand down to them.
I plan to get a Crusader subscription, Engineering Dungeons, and Towers of Adventure (I know they'll all still be good to go) come tax return time, if there's enough left. What's worrying me is all the supplemental stuff for Yggsburgh--I guess if I can't get it in the next few days, I'll have to hope that they show up on Noble Knight Games or somesuch.

I don't see how your kids could not like RPG's. Time spent together telling and playing out stories. What could they possibly like doing better? Mine prefer our game over their XBox/PS2 games. Except right now. They just got Force Unleashed and even I have to admit its too frickin cool to play some C&C right now. My youngest likes Fable 2 a lot as well.

I want Force Unleashed.
That said, I'll be a voice of dissent here. I'm actually glad it's almost over. For too long we've had to worry about what GG will do, if X can still be sold and such. I will be glad to see this chapter close and the new chapter for TLG begin.

For me, it is over. Just a few last "likes". The era of GG is over for me. I will look at what is done in his name, but I will only buy it if I like it for itself. Having his name on it won't do it for me anymore..

I agree with you there. Sadly it seems like Gary's work was hexed when you consider what has happened during his working years. Greyhawk taken by TSR, Cyborg Commando, Dangerous Journies being yanked by TSR, LA's rocky starts and the problems with CZ.
I hope Gail can do better with this and perhaps she will.

All well and good, and I largely agree, but that doesn't mean I don't want the stuff put out by TLG thus far.
I do think my kids will love roleplaying (especially my oldest--she seems made for it--what an imagination!).
Even if I can't get all the Gygaxian stuff I want, I did get my buddy here hooked on C&C in general the other night. I told about the sale going on, just talked to him, and he bought the PHB, M&T, and ALL the CZ books, including UW! So that's something.

I agree you should want it. I like all my World Builder Books, even my LA adventures, plus the CZ stuff. So I agree its all worth having and wanting. It is why I bought them all, I just started doing it a few years ago, so was able to catch up and be done in time.

I'm not saying you shouldn't want it. Hell there's tones of Greyhawk stuff by Gygax I want as well as the Builder Series stuff. What I am saying is that after seeing the things that went on with CZ (Such as the RJK incident) and the whole Gygax Games mess I'm glad it's almost over for TLG and then as a whole they and the C&C community can move on.

Absolutely. UW is a beautiful product, but there's plenty more that I know is in the pipeline that I'm looking forward to. The future is bright!

Well, I don't have all the GFW books I want (missing Insidae, Canting Crew, and Extraordinary Book of Names), but there's always eBay, I reckon. I just don't want them now, I guess is what my problem is. If I get the itch too badly, I'll find them (las time I checked my LFGS had the first two on my above list). I do think this will the the last chapter, the end of an era if you will, and TLG can move onward and upward from this point - which is a good thing, I feel.

Yeah, I'd better hurry my ass up and get Eastern District before it's gone. I think I have everything else. Would have been nice to get the pdf versions before it's all pulped, but I don't have the money. Also, would have been nice to have pdf's of Upper Works and the Yggsbook(don't think those were ever available). Don't have all of the GFW books either, but wouldn't get too much use out of them anyway. At least I have the names book.

I think every GM should own a copy of Extraordinary Book of Names (players too on this one) and World Builder. The rest is nice but not as essential IMO. Yggburgh is an awesome hardcover, packed with ideas and other goodness.

Sad thing about Extraordinary Names is that for months I thought I owned it, only to look a few weeks back and realize it wasn't there. If one has no aspirations for world creating, then World Builder, Nation Builder, and Cosmos Builder could be scatched off the list, unless one is a completist. Living Fantasy is a spectacular book, though, IMHO.
EDIT: So much for not owning the EBoN...I just bought it for $10 via the Troll Sale (which will end in two days!)
