I figured I may as well ask.
I actually think the wife and I are going to a New Years party this year!

The only thing we are going to do is stay off of the roads. Its just another day to us.

Probably going to a party, but the wife and I always make sure to get home before midnight, to avoid the craziness.

Hmm. Me and the wife usually get home early to start some craziness!

We are hosting a party for all our gaming friends. A little drinking (with sober drivers for those who over-indulge) and lots of board games and Xbox FPS shootouts.

For our family, it's Twelfth Night; the final night of our Yuletide celebrations. It'll entail a large meal, time as a family reflecting on the year past, ending with symbel at midnight and oaths made for the coming year.
Oh, and prolly some drinking outside of symbel as well.

My wife works on New Year's Eve, so we won't be doing a whole lot in the way of going out partying. Our NYE usually boils down to cooking up a bunch of junk food and watching a marathon session of The Marx Brothers.

I have to work the next morning, (up at 3:30, leave at 4:30 be at work at 5:30) so I'll be in bed and asleep hours before the new year gets here.

Gaming. You forgot the gaming option!

Yeah, you forgot the gaming option!
In fact, I'm running my first C&C session -- making the big jump away from 3.5e to ring in the new year. Wish me luck as I'm really hoping to sell my group on C&C. (Of course, having bought them all a personal copy of the C&C PHB, I'm hoping it won't be that hard to get them to switch for good! What a X-mas gift from the DM, I mean CK...)

Just another day to me. I might boardgame some and include beer by way of celebration, but thats about it.

Massive Heroscape game and lots of beer (HS is the only wargame that I can drink lots of beer while playing and still have a shot at winning.)

I'll hopefully be running the next session in my Outremere campaign. Session one is tomorrow night and is looking good. I am combining events in Keep on the Borderlands and the Death on the Treklant series in an Outremere that is set 20 or so years before the current timeline. If this works I'll have set things up for the events in the A-series and the players will see their old PC's come in as NPC's.
Of course, the best plans are ruined by players...

Oops...sorry about missing the gaming option!
But good luck with your game, nonetheless! I hope everything goes well and that your players are so enamored with C&C that they have no wishes to go back to 3.5!

Our first New Years Eve together, the wife and I stayed home and watched TV together instead of going out partying. Now its a tradition. So some beers for me and some mudslides for her. The only difference is now we have kids that can fetch us drinks so we don't have to leave the couch. If I could just find some way to have someone take a leak for me, I'd be set...

My wife and I usually watch T.V., etc. and watch fireworks from our window, but this year I think our group of friends will be in town, so we may have a few drinks, etc.
Typically we start off together, then us boys go downstairs to talk gaming and watch a concert on DVD (Maiden, Priest, etc.)
In future, I'd like to turn new years into a gaming night, or at least have some time devoted to roleplaying.

Staying at home, but running my kids in a game of C&C!
What better way to spend New Years -- off the roads, safe at home, and playing with your kids.

We'll be staying in as usual . . . but we'll be cooking, listening to music, doing puzzles, playing cards while the TV is going. Then some movie watching and popcorn and cookies!
Happy New Year!

We'll go to our friends' place like we do every year. A few other couples with their kids will also be there. We'll sit around the fireplace, drink a lot, enjoy good food, play board- and cardgames and do some fireworks at midnight. It's always nice.

My sister-in-law are staying with us right now, so we hanging out, eating home-made Polish doughnuts and relaxing. We'll likely break out some board games.

We go to a neighborhood restaurant for dinner and then hang out at home. Odds are my kids and I will continue our "Buffy" marathon, at least until it gets closer to midnight.
