I dunno Moriarty, Bill Paxton was great in Weird Science!
Mine's short for "Siegfried"; my persona name in a Medieval Recreation group (Empire of Chivalry & Steel). As our groups TX msg board was an EZ board and "Siegfried" was already taken, it would only give me "Sieg" to use. Its stuck.
No Avatar Yet, but still looking..

Catweazle is a character from an old TV show, and when I was looking for a handle to join ADnD.com my cat walkeed over the keyoard (she would get jealous of the computer). the letters she inadvertently spelled out reminded me of the character, and so it styayed. I use it in most fantasy fora.

The avatar is fairly obvious.

Scribble Cloud? Hmm...seems like I know that nickname...Oh yeah, she's my 18 year old daughter, Andrea Miller, who just became an artist for TLG.

Gotta put in a plug for the kiddo...especially since she drew every avatar I've used so far.
As for me...

my screen name "miller6" is obviously my last name, not-so-obviously followed by the number of people in my immediate family. I used to go as "Game Master" back on the BBS's, but the name is too common so I gave it up.

Fairblade was my very first character, a fighter from the Classic D&D days. Jyrdan is a slight tweak of my real name, Jordan.

The avatar is a dwarf from Warhammer. Many of my characters have been dwarves over the years. Most of them have belonged to clan Redhammer.

I thought that was a steam hammer!

After your nightmares subside write me a 4 page essasy on Bill Paxton's performance and how he truly one of the last great American thespians of our time (don't forget to mention how he was robbed for NOT getting an Oscar nod for Best Male Supporting Actor). After all that is said and done, talk to co-workers, friends and family with just lines from Aliens.

"Hey honey, can you pass the salt?"

"WHAT THE SHIT ARE WE GONNA DO HUH?"

Let's not forget his unforgettable performance in The Terminator. Although a small roll, it definitly showed his ability to run with a role.

Handle: I am a huge fan of wizards and have an almost alarming obsession with warhammers.

Avatar: I played almost exclusively halflings for the first ten years of my gaming experience, and Jeff Dee's halflings are what halflings look like in my mind's eye when I think of halflings (with a few Jim Holloway halflings popping up in my imagination here and there). I love this picture because it represents the essence of a dungeon crawl to me.

Its an abbreviation I created for a group of characters in a Cyberpunk/ Shadowrun game.

Guardians of Independence, Democracy, Equity, Order and Nobility, Through Horendus Oddball Reactionary Neurotic Espionage.

I was tired, it was 3am, and there was far too much Mt Dew at the table.

Dang! Forgot about that movie moment! I'll consider pre-Aliens and post-Aliens... Post-Aliens are the Bill Paxton moments worth forgetting (or blocking). Hudson... still Paxton's best role ever.

Good grief, Peter that's a worse anagram than one of my sci-fi monsters...

M.E.T.A.L.S.T.O.R.M.=Metalurgic, endothermic, artificial life system (with) titianium oscillating rotational machineguns.

(Basically, your doom-bot from "Judge Dread", only it melts down metal by placing it in a chest panel, molds its own bullets and expels the super-heated waste as boiling liquid.

*chuckles* The group of character's would give you a headache too. Just think of something like Mag Force 7 from Margaret Weis's Star Guardian's series.

This mob of characters were quite an oddball assortment.

All right. I like this idea. And it's been bugging me that I chose my real name as my screen name too. So I've changed it.

Dakhysron is an anagram of two of my first real AD&D characters. Rhys was a human Ranger and Darkon was a human Cleric. By real, I mean that I had played a few characters before with other kids in junior high, but these two were played in a club formed by some great guys over at the Navy base that I grew up near. They are the ones who taught me how the game was supposed to really be played -- what a great time.

I wanted a unique avatar, so I drew the dagger sitting on a sack of coins. Nothing particularly special, but to me it suggests adventure.

Hehe, no, not at all. I know Blackadder, but I'm not really familiar with any of the characters except Rowan Atkinson.

Well... my user name is also taken from my first character since my 15 year hiatus. I stopped playing RPGs in 1987/8 and got back into it in Jan 2003. I started a new character - a rogue - 2nd edition Forgoten Realms, and have been playing him every since. Even today! I have lots of history with the character, going from level 1 to a current level 8 and now multiclassed into a level 2 Illusionist. I simply love my character so much that I started using the name online.

As for where I got the name... simple... the day before creating the character I watched the bond movie with Hale Bary and took her character nick name.

Now as for the avatar... I use one pretty much everywhere I go and usually choose some sneaky type avatar. I do have a personalized avatar but choose not to use it here since it has a WOTC mini in it (that was somewhat customized for me). I didn't think it approproate so I kept it out. I do have a drawing on paper but have yet to scan it. one day....

later...

I don't see why its a problem. I personally don't have too many issues with WoTC or 3.x (I don't hate it as some do) but if its a cool mini go ahead! I think these boards are friendly enough to tolerate some WoTC stuff.

I have to agree with CK... if you're fond of your mini... no matter the source... go ahead and use it for your avatar... At least till you scan the pic in. I'd love to see it!

3.5, like it or not, is still D&D, which is why most of us love C&C because it is what D&D is supposed to be.

Use the pic. We are all part of a greater group. Fantasy enthusiasts. Let the minis live!!!!

Absolutely! These are the TLG boards, not Dragonsfoot where the mere mention will incite riots. Many of us here aren't overly fond of 3.5, but it won't offend us either.

I dig Dragonsfoot, but the hyper-sensitivity over something so silly sure makes me laugh.

OK... my arm hurts now... so untwist it ppppplease?

I've uplaoded the pic I took of my mini, after he was surprised by the owner of the treasure he is about to steel.

I'll try to scan the picture drawn by my friend for Jynx - it's really cool! She plays the girlfriend character to Jynx. MAN! We have a blast with each others characters. We're the typical always argumentative couple (in and out of character) but in the end jump in the sac and romp around (the characters - not us!!) while the other party members are standing gaurd! LOL! And her husband plays the dwarf in the group. He just laughs it off!

Danger Will Robinson...Danger.

(enter Brian the amateur psychologist)...That may be a sign that she's interested in real life. Personally, I wouldn't make a habit of it. Food for thought: How would you feel if things were the other way around?

Let me ask you this...why even go there? Does it entertain the rest of the group or just the two of you?

Ponderous man, really ponderous.
