Is there anychance (once the economy settles) that TLGs would consider creating a Fantasy boardgame in the vein of TSR's old Dungeon game ? I miss that old game .

I don't know that we have anyone here that is adept at boardgame design but it would be cool to see. Steve may have something in the works that I don't know about. I'm an avid boardgamer, so I would love to see something like that.

I'd buy one, but only if one of the playing pieces was a roll of duct tape.

Have a variant of something similar, using elements from Engineering Dungeons... of course, its a tad more like Warhammer Quest / Descent.

But yes, I'd buy one too!

Actually....
About a month ago Davis dropped the rough draft rules for a board game using the world of Aihrde. I haven't had a chance to read it yet but he mentions every meeting we have. He mentioned it to me yesterday when he turned over the rough draft of Book 2 for the CKG, the final A6 (ready for editing final) and Unusual Roadside Encounters (which should go up in pdf form tonight or tomorrow).
How close it is to Dungeon? Can't say, probably not too close as I think its a world domination type board game.
There are many things in the works in the Troll Dens it seems...

I'd like to see a few variations. One would be a game to 'recreate' the Winter Dark Wars. The other would be a Dungeon/Heroquest type game and the third would be something called Melee.

Maybe more like the old TSR board game Divine Right? Which a friend has, or had, and I've played a couple times - wicked awesome fun.

This is good.

Yeah, a new version of Dungeon!, or something like it would be damn nice. There's already tons of board games like Warhammer Quest, but not like Dungeon! Would be nice.
Hew, what ever happened to Melee?

Melee and Wizard became The Fantasy Trip, which eventually lead to Steve Jackson starting his own company (Steve Jackson Games), and some argue they are the ancestors of GURPS.

I freaking love the board game Dungeon. It was my introduction to role playing type games. Way back in grade school my sister and I played the heck out of it. I even extrapolated a system out its rules after seeing D&D at the bookstore and having vague notions of what it was about.

There was a TLG melee in the works as well. We like bustin Steve's chops on it.

Doing a Dungeon!-like board game would be simple. At least, the design of it. Production is trickier.

Are you kidding?!?! Construction would be a breeze for the Chennaults, the whole thing would be made from empty beer cans and duct tape.

Yeah, well, I meant quality production.

The more I think of this the more it seems to be a good idea. But I'd like it to be expandable, somewhat compatable with C&C and have some plastic mini's that could be used in your C&C games as well.

The game I designed is a simple production/troop/conquest strategy game.
the game gears on production management, strategic use of troops and maximizing troop types to goals. the combat matrix is intersting and provides for some fun and event turning momets but the winner is almost always going to be with the better strategy.

Actually, the more I think of it, an Ahirde version of Divine Right is really appealing.
EDIT: Tried to link to the Wikipedia article on the game but it blanked my post...

I need to pull this thing off the shelf. I'm laying out the scheduled for 4Q and 2010 already (realizing in the back of my head that once this CKG is done, unless I have clear direction, everyone around here is going to say: "Right I think we're finished" and go home never to return.
Lazy Trolls.
Melee is still here, on my desk. Waiting...waiting.
JOSH!
Hey I need his email address as I need to confer with the new super dad!

I have several board games of the adventuring/aquiring/fantasy type.
