I've been up to that neck of the woods. A friend of mine lived out 126 way, past Noti or some such place. I stopped at a little roadside dinner up there and had the biggest blessed pancake I've ever eaten in my life! It was sweet, smothered in butter.....

Of course this doens't help you find someone to game with!

Yup I'm in Oregon. Though out on the coast in Lincoln City.

There are some groups in Salem...and a good contingent in the Eugene area also I believe.

There's a game group, part of the Gamestorm Con, that is based in Corvallis/Eugene, but I'm don't know the name of it offhand.

Well...I'm here for work. You look just below center and right I work just below the red roof that's visible (the roof is also where the best Thai food in town is). Center right edge of the photo is where my house is.

If it makes you feel any better, Portland has a wet and a dry season. We get 42 inches of rain per year, but 38 inches of that is between October and April. So that photo was probably taken in late September, just before the rains began.

For about six months all we see looking toward Mt. Hood, is the next bunch of rain packed grey clouds rolling in. Heck, we had an inch of rain just today!

You know, there is a saying that "I'm only happy when it rains." Well, I think I could be happy in Oregon when it is raining. That's for sure. I have family that lives in Vancouver and thier climate is quite close to Oregon.

Haw...P-town is dry compared to out here on the coast. (85 inches per year) But rarely see snow other than in the hills. I think the worst thing is our hwys are so bad they fall apart each winter lately and cut the town off from the outside world, unless you gots a helo.

Hehehee....Snowing eh? Dachda....got a bit of hail that's melting as fast as it hits here. Mostly rain though today. You tell 'em Hood is a Volcano? The south tip of the Diamond of Destruction....

Forgot about the volcanos. I could see the steam rising off of St. Helen's the last time she blew her top. Helen's is only 96 miles from Portland.

Ten years ago I climbed St. Helen with some friends. Not a technically difficult climb, but tiring, of course. Nearly to the top, a thick cloud swept in and dropped visibility to nearly 50 feet. We were considering turning back, when we heard shouts ahead that some had reached to summit. We climbed up above the cloud into the brilliant sunshine, and there I was atop my first mountain! The fun part, was getting down. Like I said not a technical climb, and uphill in the snow all the way. So to get down most up us simply sat down, and slid the thousands of feet back to the starting point! Wow, was that the best slide ever!
