For crying out loud. Do your best with the rolls the dice have given you. This is what separates the men from the boys... -Kayolan

I would like to point out that in OF GODS AND MONSTERS coming out at the end of April you have an entire book of beings who can meet and defeat my old buddy Thor; not that I would ever want that to happen. I'm just saying.

While Thor is angered at the notion that he could ever be defeated by a mortal or fellow god: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QHM8xiiJYJE

...I'm overjoyed at the news that OF GODS AND MONSTERS will soon be on its way!

I really haven't been following the Of Gods & Monsters discussion much. All I really want to know is whether it's made clear in the book that gods cannot be killed by mortals. Seeing as the "Gods should not be treated as mere monsters" provision in AD&D's Deities & Demigods didn't work and OD&D's Gods, Demigods & Heroes said nothing at all about it.

You will be elated to know that James M. Ward has been down this path a time or two and has come up with an amazing concept for gods and all that fighting with mortals stuff. Buy the book next month and see.

Well, I hope they can certainly be defeated, injured, and the like... possibly with divine assistance needed, such as tales from the ancients like The Iliad, for example. Of course, some myths relate instances of deities being slain by mortals and the mortal thereby becoming a deity... but, OK. Sounds interesting, Jim.

All gods and other assorted divine beings are infected with a serious foot disease called flesh to clay in my game.
