Spell Casting Ability in CKG

Post by Aladar »

Does anyone know if there are plans to include in the CKG an option to allow the Bard, Paladin, and Ranger classes to have minor spell casting abilities, a la 2nd Ed AD&D?

Just curious.

I believe I read that there are going to be guidelines for playing around with the classes but nothing specific like this.

Why don't you just take those classes as port them to use in C&C? It should be very easy to do.

Possibly. There are lots of different class options / variants and add-ons (like what a class gets at levels beyond 12) so, maybe.

moriarty777,

I did, but I was just curious to see if there was going to be anything "official".

Hehehe... I fear there won't be anything 'official' till the book is sitting on the shelves but I hear ya!

I'm all for options. Maybe that's something that can get requested to Crusader? I actually like the standard, non-spellcasting, versions of the classes, but the more choices, the better!

I like the non casting versions better as well, except maybe for the bard.

The bard class seems to be kinda weak ( but they do level up pretty quick).

Options are good though.

Why do we need anything official? I'm all for house ruling something along those lines. Sorry, but I was somewhat burned out on things "official" with my foray into D&D v3.5. If I want spellcasting bards/paladins/rangers in my campaign, I'll house rule it into place.

Course, the CKG guide isn't 'official' its optional. Official implies mandatory.

I never said I wouldn't buy it. Somebody told me that some guy named Peter Bradley had a couple of good pics in it. What more reason to buy?

No offense to Peter, but I'd say some quality content! Peter's offerings are icing on the proverbial cake.

I am still looking forward to the CKG. I am very interested in what the trolls have in store for us. Of course the art work by Peter and the other artists are indeed a welcome bonus.

So what will we pine for next and wait forever for, once the CKG comes out?

naw, takes at least $3-500 a night for a proper job of it. But in any event, loads cheaper than dating.

That poor $3 girl must be working her a**e off. While the $500 girls are looking to get a bail out
I guess it's tough all over.

You beat me to it.

Anyway, I can't pine for girls anymore...I'm married. She does take forever though to come out.

And here I thought I would discover some, behind-the-scenes info from the CKG.

Course, now I know what I can do with my tax refund.
