Printer problems...resolved

Post by Julian Grimm »

I have done everything I can with this and still get nothing. I hope that someone can help me. Here's the problem:

I recently rearranged my computer set-up. One of the changes was moving my printer. I actually hadn't hooked it back up until yesterday and replaced my cartridges. When I booted it up instead of printing a test page for the new carts it threw an error to check the cartridges. I double checked them and no change. I even put the old carts back in and no change.

I need the printer running to print off some paperwork for my school registration and am in a bind. Any help is appreciated.

I would go with the basics first. unhook and unplug it and let it sit for a few minutes then rehook and replug with no ink in it. Turn it. Only then I would then put try and put the new ink in and see and then the old if it does not work.

After that I would have to see the error message and see the machine itself.

Have you checked the support section of the manufacturer's website? They might provide a troubleshooting guide to walk you step-by-step through this sort of thing.

Well, Of all things...after I posted it started working right. I did what Lord Tryon suggested before he posted it and shazam it works.

If it is a Lexmark, I'd throw it away and buy a real printer.

I wouldn't own a lexmark for a paperweight.
