Castle of the Mad Archmage (Zagyg/Greyhawk) level 4 now up..

Obviously very, very usable with Castle Zagyg: Upper Works.

BTW, this compiles all of his previous levels into this one PDF, so unless you want the separate versions you don't need to hunt for the others.

Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

I've been watching this for some time. It's a very good work and worth the DL if for nothing more as a way to do your own version. The only thing I wish had been done different was the author could have worked up his own first level for those that were not lucky enough to get UW.

Overall this is a very good follow up to UW, and an excellent showing of what the fan community can do.

Good point, I hadn't thought of that. I think it is cool that this guy just went ahead and started making levels. I like the newer maps he just put up.

I'm trying to make up new levels for a CZ/Yggsburgh campaign. I have a usable 2nd level, but the players have only checked out the Mouths of Madness caves in spite of being mostly 3rd or 4th level now. They keep wanting to wander around Eastmark and Yggsburgh

Completely agree with the feedback here. Greyhawk Grognard is one of the first "old school" blogs I noticed. The Castle of the Mad Archmage is really cool as a Castle Zagyg homage and/or for its own inspirational value.

We're still wandering the area as well but I am pointing more and more to things happening around the Little Hillwood. Of course this is due to having to have something to fill in between the MoM and the second level. So the fog is still in place right now.

Huh...I didn't know the Castle didn't have a 1st level. That's fuuny, yet sad (for those who didn't get UW). I might have to be looking into this.

If someone could do a ruins level and level 1 that doesn't infringe on already existing material it would be welcomed. Of course if a certain company would just change their mind a make it so UW could be sold again...

I went over there and tried to download the thing, but it just hangs there saying it is trying to connect to rapidshare.com.

Anyone had similar problems?

No, I haven't.

But, it does have two options depending on whether or not you're a premium user. So in most cases you'll have to wait 30-45 seconds to download the material.

Yeah, once the window opens you have to tell them your a free user, then it will give you a count down clock before you can actually DL it. IE a bunch of irritating little steps to convince you to pay for their service.
