Special Thanks mention in the latest Robotech RPG sourcebook

Post by Keolander »

Ok,

not to toot my own horn, but I got a Special Thanks mention in the latest Robotech RPG Sourcebook: The Masters Saga. Not only in the credits, but also inside the book by Kevin Siembieda! How cool is that, huh? Yea, I know, I just used up more of my 15 Seconds of Fame. The only bad thing is they misspelled my last name!
So....just thought I would share that little nugget.

Congratulations. Seeing one's name in print is a fun-filled experience, especially if it is something desired for a long time. I, too, know the lovely fun of having my name misspelled... both the first (how -- it's simple!) and the last (nearly always spelled incorrectly...) but, eventually, it gets corrected. Just keep at it.

RSCF (Keolander), When I read that I thought that was pretty darned cool. But hey man, you deserved it. I think since the earliest days of the current PallyMBs, you were one of the very, very few who supported the Southern Cross. They should have put your name in the damn credits.

Well, got another Special Thanks credit for Palladium's Robotech: The New Generation Sourcebook (they even got my name spelled correctly this time) since I loaned them a great deal of my Genesis Climber MOSPEADA artwork collection. Guess I've about used up my 15 Minutes of Fame. ;)

I'm guessing that Kevin Siembieda decided that your name wasn't good enough and had to rewrite 80% of your name.

Just kidding.

Congrats by the way!

Congrats again man! Though, I wish Pally would have used more artwork from your GCM collection. I'm not a fan of the character sketches of the OCCs in the New Generation book. The Manning stuff is fine, but the character sketches for the OCCs are not very good IMO.

Yea, I'm none too happy that alot of stuff from MOSPEADA got left out, again! Missing was Colonel Wolfe's fighter (Eulogy & Enter Marlene), Wolfe's body armor (Eulogy) and at least 2 guns (Dusty Ayres' nutcracker from Hired Gun and the 'militia blaster rifle' from Eulogy & Ghost Town). They at least got Lunk's jeeps (M-70 Kodiak and AAT-30) but left out the AAT-40 (which Gabby drove in Ghost Town) as well as the 2 Alpha drones. On top of that, several months ago akim from MacrossWorld found production artwork showing that indeed the Alpha can mount medium range missiles to the fuselage under the engines (Tommy Yune claimed that it was the model companies that did that to cover a seam) and rtsurfer found where the single instance of their use appears in Robotech (Curtain Call).

To top it off, while the 'Widowmaker' is an interesting concept, they again messed up and used the wrong Battloid-mode picture (its a modified Spartas, not a Myrmidon). However, the idea grew on me so I think I'm going to write up a piece on the modified 'Widowmaker' battloid image (calling it the Kataphract) for my d6 Alternate Robotech campaign.

I wish and wish and wish that Palladium would put into the New Gen book stuff like the AAT-40 and the med. range missile notes for the Alpha. It seems that Robotech/MOSPEADA fan would be clamoring for things like this in an RPG book. But alas, not as much techy stuff as I had hoped.
