Congratulations. I hope you find employment in your field shortly, so you can make use of all that effort.

Awesome! Now don't get too drunk and end up in jail from celebrating.

Well, since he's passed the bar, that means he's not gonna get drunk.

Congrats dude!

Btw, do you happen to know what my legal options are to regain my pilfered duct tape? I'm assuming duct tape theft is like murder, and has no statute of limitations.

Great going Dachda! Now....there are some questions about governmental ethics violations that probably need to be brought to light out this way.... like a mayor and city council ignoring the will of the people...

Thanks for the congrats, everyone. To celebrate my wife took me to my favorite hi-brow restaurant, where after a few martini toasts I had rabbit with a fig-plum sauce, yummm, downed with a bottle of wine. So a bit drunk and well fed.

For those looking for free legal advice now, well sorry but,

1) I've no interest in being a litigator, so no advice for duct tape theft victims, though as a humanitarian I grieve with you over your horrible loss, and

2) I'm afraid Googleplex, the only solution to your city's problems is summed up in the ole expression "vote the bums out!" unless of course those ethical violations are illegal, but then I'm not planning to be a prosecutor either, so . . .

Of course if my job search isn't successful soon, I may have to take clients where ever I can find 'em, no matter what the type of law. Bad time to be looking for work.

But wish me luck I do have a job interview on Monday!

Thanks again for all the congrats. That good news was a bit offset by being the first runner-up for the job I interviewed for on Monday, but of course the runner-up doesn't get the job. Ahh the joys of a job search in the midst of a major recession. And Oregon is now #2 for the unemployment rate! Thank the gods my wife has a good job.

Sorry to hear about the job. I I have come in second for various positions with the State Public Defenders office over the last 5 years, so I feel your pain. ("We really like you, so keep applying!") Hang in there -- something will come through eventually. Or you can just say "screw it!" and start a solo practice. (Benefits and retirement savings are for suckers!)
