Either one would be nice, but I wouldn't mind the new PHB, personally.

Where does one actually buy the new books? I can't find them on eBay, or Amazon, etc. My local game store is run by idiots who've never heard of Troll Lords, so i'm not sure i can get it that way.

Do the Trolls ship to Canada? Anyone tried that?

Not sure. There seems to be some weird tension between the Canadian and US postal service that makes delivery wonky. Some folks can get their stuff in days, others it takes weeks. Not sure why, since it seems to me that driving over or flying over a border ought not to have that much effect on mail delivery.

My orders seem to take no more than a couple of weeks on average.

You might be right Peter. Sometimes it takes an inordinate amount of time to get things to Canada. Add in the fact that I feel we shouldn;t have to pay so dang much to ship there, and it makes for some strangeness, indeed.

That was going to be my next question, to anyone who knows:

Is this available through distribution yet, or just directly/through preorider? If not, when will it be?

In a box, on the floor, of a hot little garage (no AC), in Little Rock, Arkansas. It hasn't even been given your name yet.

Holy crap, Omote does not lie!

This looks amazing!

I was stoked about the 4th Crusade before. Now I absolutely cannot wait if all of the books are going to look this damn good.

Must be nice...I still have about a 3 week wait for some stupid reason (or so says my FLGS). Glad you like it, sir!

Hell yeah!

And I much appreciate it.

And I notice this printing has a Yeth Hound in it.

Nifty.

I got my copy today, and I think the format is really nice. Good work all around, and an eye-catching product.

It is a crap shoot really. When I ordered Spirits of the Century, not just me, but all Canadians across Canada had to wait 2 months to get it to our doors, and to add insult to injury they tacked on $9.00 in customs fees for their incompetence.

I'd say get it through your FLGS if you can.

Finally got mine! It is sweet looking, that's for sure. And I like the paper! Yeah, I noticed the Yeth Hound, too, DD...and the Yellow Mold. The magic section looks a lot tighter.

The Vampire entry still refers to Vampire Spawn.

I picked mine up yesterday, very happy with it, I dig the green. Layout has improved. I'll be giving it a good look over tonight after the hockey game.

Can anyone give any details: such as is it gloss paper or standard? Did the Trolls change the font style? Are there more monsters? Are any monsters drastically changed? What about treasures? Any changes?

Its a smooth finish laser paper.

Yes the font style was slightly changed.

Yes, there are a couple more monsters that got left out.

No, there are no drastic changes in either monsters or treasures.

Don't get me wrong, I love the art in the book, but I have to admit that I was a teeny bit disappointed that not all the dragons were represented, artistically. Being that they are the "iconic" crreatures of the fantasy rpg genre, I kind of wished they all were there...but that's just me. Otherwise, I'm thoroughly pleased (and as I said, the lack of dragon art is very, very minor).

I did a quick comparison on my blog, and the response has been pretty one-sided thus far:
http://www.rpgblog2.com/2009/05/before-after.html

Me, I like both.

I tried to pick this up at my local games store (150 mile trip), but they only had the 2nd printing (which I already have) so I picked up the new Libram/Necro supplement (I can't pronounce it). As I paid for it at the register, the store owner said, "the CKG is coming out in August."

I said, "Man, you're preaching to the choir!"
Besides, I'm still holding out for it at TrollCon.

I was hesitant to purchase the third printing, but man I am glad I did. Wonderful redesign all around.

Nice to see some are in the treasures section.

I was leery about the cover color scheme but seeing it in person it is amazing.

Nice work TLG.

I picked a copy up a few days ago, I have to say I have not felt this giddy since I picked up my first 1E Monster Manual so many moons ago. To me it is almost like the magic is back. Good job TLG.

I have to admit, I had that giddy feeling, too. It's been a long time since I purposely kept the book closed until I got home, but I did with this one. It was nice to sit down on the couch and take in all the TLG goodness.
