Fun Drinking Games...

Post by serleran »

Anyone have any favorite drinking game? Me, I don't actually drink alcohol, but I figure it can be modified to something equally different... Anyway, I recently bought a yard glass, and let me tell you, drinking a carbonated beverage like Dr. Pepper is tricky, but not too terribly difficult... mostly chugging until the bubble hits and then its all down. Plus, it sounds much cooler to "drink a yard" than "40 ounces."

Favorite drinking game (with soda) between me and my brother is if you don't drink the cup faster then the other person you have to drink Tabasco straight. Which really makes the heat go up when you start chugging soda again

I don;t have a "favorite" drinking game, but I did play Trivial Pursuit once, set to drinks. I remember that if you got a regular space question wrong, you drank your drink once. If you got a pie space wrong, I think it was three spaces wrong. It was a messed up night.

I never ventured into drinking games, but my favorite to read about was a drinking game for Buffy the Vampire Slayer. One of the conditions was that you had to drink whenever Buffy's bra strap was visible. Sarah Michelle Gellar found out about it and became extremely self-conscious about her bra straps after that. As a result, you don't see much in the way of bra straps after the second or third seasons of the show.

For the ridiculous-capacity players, you should search online for old Iron Chef drinking games. During the original, Japanese version they had some great drinking conditions, such as taking a drink whenever the Ota Faction became upset at Morimoto using an unconventional cooking technique or ingredient.

Quarters. A little skill, a little luck, plus you can choose who drinks if you drop the quarter.

That's a damn funny story, hoss. Never knew that!

I know I played drinking games before, but I have a hard time remembering them.

While delicious and fun, is it really a game though?

The Conan the Barbarian Drinking Game (I haven't played this since Grad School, mind you):

It can be played with any drink, depending on your fortitude and tolerance.

- Every time someone says "Crom," take a drink

- Every time Conan makes some giant inarticulate sound, take a drink

- At every key quotation (i.e. What is best in life?), take a drink

- And finally, every time there's someone on screen with a mullet, take a drink

We originally played it with straight vodka, but these days I think I'd scale back a bit from that.

Too funny. Never heard of that one.
