i love my new Kodak printer!

Post by Treebore »

I have bought HP's, Lexmarks, and a couple of other brands I no longer remember, and I either thought they were OK, or complete crap. I also usually buy printers around the $125 to $150 price range.

Well, last week I thought I had broke my old scanner/copier/fax/printing Lexmark, now I know it was 2 bad USB cables, that somehow went bad at the same time! Anyways, I had seen the Kodak printer ad on TV, talking about how much cheaper its ink is, how its this and that. So when I thought my Lexmark was broke I decided, what the heck? I'll give it a try.

So it arrived yesterday, and when I went to hook it up is when I found out both of my USB cables were bad, so I went to Walmart and got a new one.

I didn't get the $150 one either, I got the $200 one. This is because of the 15% off offer they made if I also ordered additional ink cartridges and photo paper. Well, for once I could afford the final total, so went for it. It being wi fi and collating are sure nice extras.

Anyways, what I am loving most is that I have printed over a hundred pages of stuff, and my ink levels have barely budged!! If I had printed these on my Lexmark my levels would have dropped by about 30%!

So I am in love! The collating is sweet too! First time I have ever had a collating printer!

Cool. Only problem I see is, if the ink does drop, replacing it. Those Kodaks can be a puppy to repair / replace.

And, Lexmark... god, can't they just go out of business already?

Tree, I have a Kodak 3-in-1 printer also. We've had it for about a year. Between my wife and I, we've printed close to a thousand print jobs. The machine holds up well and the price of the ink is freakin awesome! You can't beat $25 for both color and black ink, considering a black ink cartrige for my wife printer at school is $40 itself. The machine pays for itself in no time just on the cost of the ink alone.

Its certainly looking that way. Plus the way their cartridges are designed are simply genius! I imagine seeing that becoming industry wide as soon as the patent runs out.

Plus replacing the cartridges looks like it will be as easy as it was putting them in.

I'm going to give the Kodak printers a serious look next time. My current HP has the CMYK ink cartridges broken out so it's cheaper but I'm always glad to hear about other good products.

I've gone with HP's for the last 10 years or so, but if the Kodak's are good, I might give them a look when I replace my computer...which will be happening some time after GenCon.

It is definately a solid printer and the ink is cheap compared to other companies.
