It takes more than a fine looking woman (or 3) in the cast to pique my curiosity. Silent Bob said it best..."There's a million fine looking women in the world. Not many of 'em bring you lasagna at work." Or something like that. Good looking women on the show are nice, don't get me wrong. Daisy Duke didn't hurt my desire to watch The Dukes of Hazzard, but at that age, I was more interested in the dynamite arrows the Duke Boys had.

It's a good show. As far as it being like the 80s show, c'mon... It's a show about aliens coming to Earth, trying to be nice but really wanting to destroy us. Yeah, THAT was a totally new and original idea back in 1983... At least these guys gave a nod to a show a lot of us remember fondly.
And as far as it being like the old show, it's really not. The '83 series had you wondering just what these "Visitors" were all about. There is some doubt, some intrigue and finally the big reveal when the leader eats a freakin' hamster. In this one, you know they are Evil in the first show. Plus, although the Visitors looked like humans, they couldn't really blend in. They had to wear those Yoko Ono sunglasses. In this one, the Visitors have been here for years and this visit it the final leg of the assimilation. I think this version will have a lot more 'Oh my goodness!" moments as characters reveal themselves. Who is an alien? (sounds like a part of BSG that I fondly remember... I don't fondly remember a lot of that damned show...) Actually, aside from the "We come in peace... just kidding, we come to eat you" premise, the two or rather different.
Also, I watched some of the old series on SyFy channel and, well... lets just say early 80s TV had a lot of overacting and melodrama. It probably wasn't as good as nostalgia makes it seem...
