I'm a lawyer - sworn into the Oregon Bar by the OR Supreme Court thursday. Today my head hurts from the gin & tonic celebration with friends last night. Ouch . . .

I hereby suggest that Sir Dachda be nominated for the post of High Justicar of the C&C Society!

I have NO authority to do so, but it would be neat anyway...

Congrats on the accomplishment

Thanks everyone. As to the type of law, frankly with this economy, I'll practice whatever I can to find a job. I hope eventually to practice federal Indian law and/or environmental/natural resource law.

If I may make a not-too-political suggestion....we need more REAL Constitutional Lawyers. We have a dearth of them and many of those we have wouldn't be fit to command a dingy let alone protect regular citizens from the depredations of government abuse.

Q: How many lawyers does it take to screw in a lightbulb.

A: None. They'd rather sit in the dark and decide which of them gets to sue the bulb manufacturer for making a defective product.

Seriously, Congrats on your hard work.

FYI....look up the recipe for Menudo. Guaranteed hangover cure.

Well, Indian law is essentially all constitutional law, the basis comes from the three mentions of tribes in the constitution and the two hundred years of supreme court decisions that followed. And if it makes you feel better, I got A's in my two Con Law classes.

I actually was partly inspired to go to law school to acquire the tools needed to fight the abuse you mention, that I saw over the last 8 years or so.
