Need adventure help ASAP

Post by Fat Dragon Games »

OK, I need suggestions for a 1-night adventure (levels 1-3). I've already run the Wyrm Well for a couple of the guys, so that one is out. Need to run it for Saturday night, so I'll need to get it Friday to prep. TIA.

Have a high class lady come into the tavern where all the characters are hanging out, and have her accuse one of them of thieving her virtue. She could have several armed escorts who could rush at the target player when she points and says "He's the father."

That could lead off to a nice evening entertainment.
The mystery is to figure out what is really going on.

Gideon, Tooooo funny & perfect for the kind of game I like! More "high" adventure intrigue than -there's the orc, kill the orc take the gold. When I move back to Ok I'll have to buy you a beer and beg to join one of your games!

I would have said Beacon at Enon Tor, Rising knight, or Lion in the Ropes, but Gideon's idea is much better than that if you are doing a one shot fun game

One of the best games I was ever involved in, took place entirely in a Tavern.

The place was a target for slaver raids and the group I was playing in ended up defending the place.

Pick up the PDF of The Book of Ruins from Judges Guild. Designed for OD&D, readily useable with any edition...
Click here to see an example of how I used it recently with Castles & Crusades at a convention.

I believe if you had the TOWERS OF ADVENTURE box all of your one night adventuring problems would be solved.

Actually, I do have it and have run several of them (it's great.) The problem I'm going to have is two of the players really like heavy role playing, not just a dungeon crawl, so I'm trying to find something to appease everyone. I'm trying to get my old D&D group reconstituted a bit to try and run regular C&C games (schedules have really screwed this up over the last year) and I'm sick of doing Skype games!

My buddy Paul ran us through a softball game with orcs one night...talk about your role playing session. Gaming with him was ever THE adventure. *chuckles*

Second for Halfling Hall...

What about using "Hive of Villainy" from Goodman Game's DCC #29? If done right, I should think you could get several hours of role-playing out of that adventure.

If not that, perhaps T1-Village of Hommlet?

Oh, quite so; two great adventures from the pages of White Dwarf were based in taverns: Night of Blood and A Rough Night at the Three Feathers.
