CKG Update

Post by Fat Dragon Games »

Just FYI: Steve is back to his bad habit of actually answering the TLG phones. He has answered my phone calls not once, not twice, but THREE times this week. I can only assume he is doing this with other calls as well, which means HE IS NOT WORKING ON THE CKG! Please feel free to jump his ass about this. Thank you.

Are you trying to sabotage CKG production?!?!?!?!?

I'm less inclined to be cross at Steve for answering than I am to be cross at you for willful and premeditated interrupting.

It's a wonder the Trolls don't line a bunch of us up and go all "Three Stooges" on us. I haven't seen this much 'whine' since the last time I saw a documentary about Nappa Valley in California.

When will you learn. There is no CKG it's all an elaborate hoax to keep us interested. It's like bigfoots or the grey aliens who probe you in your sleep. Disinformation and lies.

As long as there's solid work going on for the CKG. I'm in no rush.
I can remember reading the blog where Steve said he was finally convinced that the ball should start rolling on CKG. I suddenly felt like a Joss Whedon fan who's been told that he'll get a second season of Dollhouse.

I am pretty sure that IF the book does not make Gencon it will be Tom's fault! Lol

Right now we are slipping behind in the schedule a little but huge leaps are being done. Its dominating the track around here for me and Davis, though I'm forced to take side steps to work on ancillary projects like A6, Crusader, and Gods book....

Speaking of which, the art for the Aihrde deities came in and it is awesome! Unklar is flipping sweet!

Awesome news, Steve.

As for holding up the CKG...you all thought I was joking about some serious beatdown if the CKG isn't out at GC? Dammit man!

All this is great news. It will be nice to look through the new books which technically are only weeks away!

HA! Your feeble attempt to shift blame upon me has failed, Mr. 'duct-tape-thievery-person'!

And FYI, Steve answered my FOURTH call this week a few minutes ago.

Even if the CKG doesn't make it out for GenCon, who cares?! Look at all of the utter sweetness that will probably be there anyway.

Dammit man...that's how it starts. Then it's "who cares if it's not out by Christmas," and we go further and further down the spiral. Don't fall into this trap, man!!

Look, I'm telling you the CKG needs time to write. There are going to be a lot of things in that book that need to be right. Yes, the CKG has been in the planning stages for 5 years, but that doesn't mean it was being written. Once you start sitting down to write a tome that will have such a massive impact on the C&C game, you as the author have a lot to think about. Ideas and theories sound great when you intially think of them but once you start to work out the finer details, and how those details will work with this game, there is a royal $#!t-ton of work to be done. If TLG is so hot to get this book out, let them do it right.

I can agree with that, Omote. I just think it's about time to do it, to finally get it out. No, I haven't been here from the Dark Ages, waiting on it for years from the first time it was mentioned, but I'm here now. I've heard the stories. Again, I agree with you, hoss, but I think it's time. The signs are there.

Plus, add in the fact that the workhorse load of the writing is being done (as I understand it) by Steve and Davis, not to mention the editing, playtesting, and probably massive rewrites. Yes, TLG is pushing hard for this book, but when the head honcho is doing so much work for the CKG in additon to taking Fat Dragon's calls all day, it takes time.

I'm being good, today I'm just using e-mail for Steve.

I'm not stupid (contrary to what Mrs. FDG tells everyone), I'm using Skype, every call I make is from a new number. Steve never knows if it's me or not!!!
