Like this one...

There's also the big nice one down in The Artists Area.

Some definite Wayne Reynolds influence there (i.e. the "explosive/dynamic action" aspect more than anything else). Looks very much in the "modern FRPG art" mold. The crusader tabard is a nice touch.

Is that red snake connected to the beastie? I love what is going to be the back end of the wrap around cover. That's going to work very nicely.

Yeesh, that's why I only post links folks, it takes up the whole screen and skews everything.

Yes, the snake tail is connected to the chimera variant. If you want to know where I got the concept, look up what the actual chimera myth looks like.

The skewing must happen.

Also, the look of the dead trees in the center-background, along with their perspective is really sweet.

As for the Chimera variant, please do poke Steve to include it in M&TII or MoA.

After being defeated in a small skirmish by a crusader who had drunk from the Holy Grail and who was wielding the Longinus Spear, Saladin made a pact with dark forces and summoned forth a Chimera and a Displacer Beast to get his revenge...

I also liked the placeholder. Either way, the art here is infinitely better than the drek that is on most FRPGs these days.

I like this new cover much better. I think it stands out from a lot of current RPG covers which typically portray a fairly static image (e.g., a couple heroes posing, or, at best, a monster leaping towards the "fourth wall").

Yeah, on the whole, I'd have to say that Peter Bradley's one of my favorite fantasy artists.

Right, and I already accounted for the binding. That's the nice thing about being the guy who designs the layout too.

Wait, there's a back? I thought the book was going to be gigantic legal paper sized? Damnit! I had ordered new bookshelves and everything.

Cool!

What book is getting the placeholder art. Because that was way rad, too.

I agree, it'd be a crying shame not to see it on something.

Many, many moons ago a book was loosely announced by TLG called Gods & Demons. That book never came to fruition, and frankly this is the first time it's been mentioned by a Troll Dude in probably a couple of years, but the premise of the book was sweet; a book that detailed gods and demons of the C&C game.
