Of Gods & Monsters errata
Of Gods & Monsters errata
Just got my soft-covers of PHB and OG&M and found a couple of typos that maybe can be fixed before the hardcovers are printed.
OG&M:
page 15, under Unklar description - mentions United Kingdoms, should be Confederation of Torrich
page 16, under Unklar's avatar stats - uses original barbarian special abilities and not the new abilities in the 4th print of PHB. This will cause confusion with new C&C players who only have the 4th printing PHB.

Thanks dacha! Some of that we caught, but I've marked it now. There may be further barbarian problems as Jim did not have the final text when he finished his. But this will be all corrected for the hard back release.
Thanks,
Steve

Do you want us to bring up spelling errors, like the tw handed sword mis spelling I mentioned in another thread?

Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

Another thing I noted is not errata, but I noticed the Aihrde gods only include the Val-Eahrakun, and the Val-Austlich are not presented. So Ore-Tsar and Ogoltay are missing, the former especially is important for the whole A-series of adventures, since Ore-tsar is so important in New Aenoch. The Monsters for the Aihrde gods have all been published before in either the Monsters of Aihrde pdfs or in Crusader magazine. Is it too late to drop the beaties and add the Val-Austlich?
If not will the Val-Austlich gods appear in a future (very soon I hope) release? Oh and lets not forget the Val-Tulmiph gods as well. A couple of the old D20 modules include appearances or are heavily influenced by St. Luther and Utumno, would love the OG&M treatment of them too.
The rest of the pantheons look great though. Like the take on the humanoid gods especially, the way, each can morph so different humanoids are worshipping the same god without realizing it.
Mr. Ward did some great work with this book. But I am missing the rest of the Aihrde gods.

I expect the rest of the Airhde gods will find their way into future Airhde releases.
Thing is, on a book of this nature, in my opinion, each pantheon in mythology could easily make its own book. There weren't just 8-10 gods in the more popular pantheons. There were sometimes armies of em.
The Celts alone had several dozen. The Greek Gods bred like flies. One could do a book just on the by blows of Zeus.

I understand what you wrote, but wish the gods picked for Aihrde had included some of the more active gods in the pantheon as noted in the Folio and the Codex. Especially Ore-tsar.

I really had two choices with those Aihrde gods. There was so much stuff there that I decided to just do the first and oldest third.
I'm hoping my friend Steve says, Jim that book sold so well I want you to do an OF GODS & MONSTERS II. That sounds like a great Gen Con 2010 release to me.
Also, please tell me all the imagined mistakes anyone fines. We do want to fix them in the second and third printing.

I hope Steve tells you that too. I think the book is first-class and it will see some heavy use at my gaming table. I'm just a big fan of Aihrde and so wish some more of that pantheon would have fit the book. But I do understand that many buyers of the book, will be more interested in the other pantheons and a happy medium had to be found.

Of Gods and Monsters II?? I say bring it on, but here comes the great "I thought TLG only said two corebooks" debate.
On a serious note though: there really will only ever be two core books for the current iteration of C&C. Even if Steve declared tomorrow "EIGHT CORE BOOKS!" that wouldn't make it any less true. Core books are the books REQUIRED to play and run the game. That means the PHB and M&T for C&C. Anything else you want is subject to your own personal needs and requirements.

They have only announced the PH being printed on the 22nd and available by the 25th, so presumably Of Gods and Monsters has yet to be printed in a HC.

But given how the company seems to be run, who knows.
The best way to get up to date info is either by following their twitter or to keep an eye on the top forums about up coming releases and "available now".

*chuckles* The company is run rather well. Amazingly, despite the economy, TLG is still here, and expanding. Whereas other, larger, and theoretically more on the ball companies are going out of business.
Somehow I think TLG manages just fine doing as they do.

Hmm Not sure what to make of this statement.
But, the book has not gone to press as it was supposed to, for the same delays that hit the players handbook hit of gods and monsters.
I'll post a release date when it goes to press, but of course it won't go to press until we have a look at your editorial comments.
Thanks,
Steve
