I miss old school art.

All topics including role playing games, board games, etc., etc.

I think in the case of WotC, the focus of D&D has changed from a hobby to business. So, there's a "clean" look to the pictures. No grit. Just my opinion, anyway.

I prefer the 1980-1985 era art (Erol Otus being my fave, just like Akrasia stated), but the 2e artists did nice work, too, IMO. It just didn't wow me the way the art for BD&D, Expert D&D, and AD&D 1e did. The aforementioned "Paladin in Hell" and Emirikol pictures were the best "action" pictures of their day. Holloway drew some great monsters in the MMII, so seeing his work on RJK's CotSK was a treat.
