They are real cool!

Post by Treebore »

I have been buying Paizo's decks for a couple of years now. They are decks of equipment, much like the cards you may remember seeing back in the TSR days, however the art is much fancier are these are not "stock" iteme cards. You customize them to be whatever mundane or magical item you wish.

They have weapons, armor, potions, rods, staves, wands, demon teeth, relics, tons more, and soon will even have friends and foe cards.

All I can say is I got a weird enjoyment out of going through my cards deciding what my last PC's equipment looked like before he headed off into the Tainted Lands to be torn apart, and I must say he looked darn good, and so did the rest of the group!

Anyways, here is a starting point if your interested in looking at them, and realize they have even more that are not tied to their PAthfinders.

I am also a subscriber to their Map line if anyone wants to ask me about those.

Edit: Here is a better link to their decks:

Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

Yeah, I've been meaning to get more of those decks. I'm wavering on subscribing to them. I love the map packs.

I use the heck out of Paizo's Gamemastery line. The Map packs/flip-maps, item cards, even their "Compleat Encounter" sets.

I use the item cards only for when running an adventure where unknown magical items are found. You can substitute even plain playing cards but this is what I do; write down a number-letter code on the card. Give it to the searcher after an encounter. Keep in my notes what the item does. I noticed people tend to forget things written down on their gear list after several treasure laden dungeon crawls so these help to remind us that some items still havnt been identified. Of course there are red herrings in the mix.
