30 months!

Post by Treebore »

I don't know how many of you pay attention to on line games in the TLG forum, but I was reflecting with one of my players earlier this evening, Rigon, on how long our "Tuesday", once upon a time "Monday" group has been playing.

September 13th makes it 20 months since we decided to start playing together. Rigon and Aramis have been there since day 1.

I have had many other players come and go, and even come back again.

Slimykuotoan, Wulfgarn, Rhuvein, Titania, Sylva, Kayolan, and I think a few others.

Plus Leif and nwelte are still with us, and have been for over a year.

I don't know if this is exceptional for an on line game or not, but it certainly feels like it to me!

To the point where I wanted to post about it.

Looking forward to a long future "Tuesday Group"!

Thanks for all the good times!

I've got to say, there has definately been some fun times and harrowing moments. But isn't it closer to 30 months. We've been at it for about 2 1/2 years now.

That's great... I've never had an online game last longer than a couple months.

I think that probably speaks volumes about the entire group. Each person, both player and CK are putting in some good effort with some good attitude, or it would never last that long.

Congrats, and may it keep going!

Congrats! That's longer than the last two face to face games I was involved in combined.

Congrats! I'd say any game over a year, even face-to-face, is an accomplishment!

Congrats! Quite an achievement for any game group, much less an online one.

It's been fun. It's a good group, both players and GM, so that makes everything smooth, fun, and laid back. Mostly the same people in the Sunday game too, so we must be doing something right

Using C&C as an online rule base makes everything run _much_ smoother, to my inexperienced eye. So many issues are resolved with a quick discussion, or the ever popular "make a SIEGE check"

It's not only playing with the same folks for an extended period, we have been playing the same characters in the same campaign as well. So a lot of fun character histories have developed, with Rigon being the Dragon Charmer and Leif being the Keeper of the Royal Pocket, and so on. Good stuff.

(Treebore the DM is known only by the mysterious nickname "2" )

We started in the Haunted Highlands, but eventually we evolved into the large Gygaxian campaign known to those few initiates who have survived its terrors only by its horrifying letter code: GDQ.

One of the more amusing scenes was just as the Fire Giant Chief took a deep breath and prepared to give us a long involved speech explaining what the heck has been going on for the last 6 months, Nwelte1 threw his hammer of thunderbolts at him, killing him instantly. So we finished the module as ignorant as we began it, which, for our group, was entirely appropriate

Thanks for the memories guys

I follow the government's lead... shock and awe and ask questions later.

My favorite scene was two sessions after the the Fire Giant King:

Rigon: I use my rod of rulership.

DM: Well the Red Dragon will save unless it rolls a 1.

Click - Dice dot spits out number

DM: Damn it...

** Or did it fail a save versus charm? Either way it was hilarious seeing the one pop up.

It was versus Charm Monster, damn dice bot!

So we have:

Leif, the Master of False Gods

Fynn, Lord of Dragons

Ash, the Deathbringer

and last, but not least,

Orlan, the God of Hellfire.

With several fallen comrades left behind in the dust. Such as Garmund, food of Shambling Mounds. Plus a Knight of the Lunar Order. A Barbarian, forgetting his name. Plus a couple fo more I am blanking on. Been a lot of fun though.

Next you will be joined by Haakon, a Dwarven Cleric of Hestis that has been surviving as a slave of the drow for well over 10 years.
