IIRC, Until Tolkien came along, it was Elf/Elfs and Dwarf/Dwarfs. He is the one who made the plurals Elves and Dwarves. (He used to work on the Oxford English Dictionary, so who am I to argue?)

Naah, The plural of Elvis is Elvii. A female Elvis impersonator is an Elvira. The plural's the same for both.

Elvin's something to do with chipmunks.
