Recruiting canadian players in GTA

Post by angelius »

Today's a sad day,

I'm losing two more players to time constraints. In total I've lost 3 over the last few weeks. One's starting medical school and the other two have just gotten too busy to play. It's a terrible loss and trying to hold the campaign together.

So I'm looking for players in the GTA, Toronto Area.
Would like to msn and stuff to get to know new players before they join, if we find any.

I'm also opened to suggestions from other CKs.

I got two options really,

1. Play by post the current campaign.

2. Start a new campaign with the 4.5 players that I have and play the current campaign on special occasions.

I kinda expected this since school is back in session for a lot of people. But still it blows hard.

Well, Ottawa is close but not close enough which means I won't be able to.

I'd probably start a new one with the players you've got 4 (er 4.5) makes a good group size so you won't necessarily be limited at what you can do... well that's assuming they diversify with their characters... Four first level wizards may not get very far.

Play by post may be a way to go until you get your current campaign to a point where it can be the 'once in a while/special occassion' campaign.

Best of luck to you!

Regained 1 player, "Ragnar" from the depths of girlfriendhood. So we're back up to 5 now. And we got a spectator for the next game so I guess we're back to filling in the ranks.

Thanks Mor, I think we're going to start a side campaign now. And save the main campaign for special occasions.

It sucks how group break ups even for just an extended period of time feels like a real break up. No matter how many times I go through one, it still feels the same. I spent most of the night doign damage control with my players. :p

Not sure but it sure feels like we're the only group in the Oakville/Mississauga area for C&C. I'd be happy for someone to prove me wrong on this!

Group and group meetings are always fun at the local timmies.

hehe...

For the *immediate* time being, unfortunately no. Aside from my own campaign, I know of one other run by a friend of mind who is also pretty much booked up in terms of players.

However, I know of at least a couple more people who are looking to start playing and I'm considering either making certain changes in my campaign or start another one altogether down the line.

Scheduling conflicts are the biggest problems my friend and I run into, and for myself at least, some of what I'm talking about probably won't be taking place till later in October (assuming they do take place). From now till then, I've got a lot of things on the go.

However, feel free to PM me so that we can banter back and forth. And I should also say this:

Welcome to the Crusade!

Talk about conflict Mor... It seems we just CAN'T play togeter! As for myself, I don't have trouble finding players, I just can't get them either: A- To commit

B- To be available

So I end up playing with the same crowd every sundays... They're not bad, most are excellent roleplayers, but damn.. wouldn't it be sweet to get Mor to play with me.... For Tapper's sakes..

its an open invite. you feel up to it, drop me a line.

If I had a reason to cross into Canada like I used to (my fiancee's aunt lived there, but recently moved back) I'd consider a game... though I don't know if any of you are near Crystal Beach, which is around where I would've been going. Course, you guys could cross a bridge and come into Buffalo and say hi, too. Probably too far away, though.

Damnit! Would be nice to say hi to all y'all.

If you can make an LGGC con, I'd be happy to have you at my table.

Otherwise, if I ever make it up your way (which I hope to some time), I'll let you know.

Serleran, would love to game with you...oh, wait, I already did.

Anyhow, anytime you're in the neighborhood my friend, I'll have a halfling rogue with an oversized bag of holding waiting for ya.

I live in Burlington, but pretty much split our time between my house, and another players home up on the 'mountain' in Hamilton

And for anybody who doesn't live in southern Ontario who is reading this thread.. the term 'mountain' is a long standing joke, it represents a gentle escarpment that rises only a couple hundred feet. Hamiltonians have such envy over Trontonians that they just 'need' to have something that's bigger
(now I'm going to get it!!)

lol, I got nothing to say to that because I dont really consider myself a Torontonian!
(To others, Hamilton and Toronto have a long feud with just about everything. But the best are the CFL, Canadian Football commercials that totally just trash talk about each city's teams.)
