What do they mean by a flipbook

Post by Wulfgarn »

I think that means there's no back cover... if you hold it one way its the PHB, you flip it over and it's M&T, assuming and even page count, the centerfold will show the end of one book on the left and the other on the right upside down

It might be the closest thing we ever see to getting a Rules Cyclopedia style Castles & Crusades book.

Relaxo is dead on right

On one side is the cover of the PH and the PH follows. When you flip it, the other side (the back cover if you will) is the MT. It combines both books as are.

Omote...oh baby are you wrong.

2010! Davis has mapped a very nice Gencon release. We are all very excited!

Of course, we first have to get through December! LOL

Well that wouldn't be the first time. Great to hear that there is a awesome plan for the GenCon. And what, pray tell is Davis cooking up... anticipation BEGINS NOW!

I'm actually very excited by this book. Gives us a nice new angle. Its going to be a headache for peter. But he's already working on the cover so we are well ahead of the 8 ball.

Mr. Trolllord,

Care to spill the beans about exactly what kind of book this is we are speaking of? Any details you can provide could help us determine if this is the type of book we think it might be... and if that is the case, how many of us will have to change our pants.

Thank you.

GDW used to do this with their Traveller Double Adventure line - two short adventures in one 36-page book (digest sized, like the rest of the Little Black Books). Loren Wiseman of GDW said they were inspired by the old Ace Doubles.

He also said that while reasonably popular with Traveller players, retailers hated it. Really, really hated it. It was confusing for them to know what product was what ("Am I ordering Chamax Plague or Horde!? Oh, it's both. Wait, what?"), and made displaying them problematic.

I liked them for short adventures. Not sure I'd want it in a core book. YMMV.

Is it a paperback? (that's "perfect bound" right, the nice square spine edge? Might be a tad thick.

I must say though, that using my 4th print paperback PHB, I actually like it better than the hardbacks now, because flipping pages is so much easier.

Let's hope. Probably though because the shark stats were included in the softcover reprints of the M&T 3rd printing.
