More Players! (Finally)

Well after watching my group dwindle from 7 about a year ago down to just 3 over the last few weeks, (this is even with one player joining the group) I talked two of my cousins into playing. One was a long time player, even back to first campaign in 1E, then a lot in 2E. The other played once or twice a kid but this is her first serious attempt at playing. This will give us a CK plus 3 players (plus one who can play 1/2 the night until he leaves for work).
Plus my one cousin has a 12-13 year old son that could be a possible player (A bit immature, but I think he could work.)

The 12 year old can work. I have more fun with my 10 year old than I do my 13 year old, that teen age angst is real you know.
Seriously, let the 12 year old play. Then whenever he behaves in a unacceptable manner jump all over it. If he wants to keep playing he will learn to behave the way that is expected.
By jumping all over the improper behaviour, I don't mean yell, scream, or anything drastic like that. Just call him on it. Say, "12 year old, that behaviour (insert behaviour) is not acceptable. I/we expect (insert desired behaviour). If you wish to keep participating with us you will exhibit the desired behaviour. Understand?"
If he behaves, great. If he doesn't, kick him out of the group. Just make sure the parent understands how you will handle their childs participation.
Besides, if he liked the game he will eventually ask to rejoin. Then you can let him, making sure he understands the nature of his probationary return to the group.

Alot of newer players in my group never experienced D&D before, but played Final Fantasy as their initial rpg experience. Wow, we've come a long way.
Good to hear your groups growing

Hopefully the 12 year old will fit in with the group. This is a game specifically meant for this age group. Either C&C or BD&D.
Otherwise, glad to hear of your group expansion, Mal!

I was getting worried for a while, I thought things were about to fold. I think the 12 year old would work, I don't know if he will even come over with his mom, but if he does, I'll make the suggestion.

One of my best players (and our alternating DM) is a third generation D&D player. I talked to Grandma just today to tell her how our campaign was going.
