smiley wierdness: thirteen is 13.

Hehe, yep. Just check the "Disable Smilies in the post" box at the bottom, when you're ready to submit your post. And then the number will show as is.

I think there are smiles for 13 and 14.

Yep. You can also edit your post and click the "do not use smilies in this post" box, as well. I've had to do that a lot.
