Funny thing is, most of it's actually under the LollyGag Inn. The place was a fortress before one of my retired characters took it over.

Well, perhaps then you need to stop publishing those maps in the Crusader. -OR- begin publishing your mega-dungeon crawl within the pages of the Crusader.

The more and more we hear about the ole' Lollygag, the more interesting that place becomes.

Well, that's kinda my plan. I'm using the freebie section as an impetus to get things moving.

I might hop back and forth between that and Gramarye keep.

Thank you all again for your feedback.

Thanks dunbruha for the Castle of the Mad Archmage link. I've downloaded it and filed it for future use.

Thanks CharlieRock for the conversion notes. Similarly, they're filed away now.

Thanks Jackal for the comments on the pdfs.

I've now ordered my PHB and hope it makes it through the UK snow before the weekend. I have a case of Guiness and an open fire ready.

Now for some research into settings. Hmmm, the default Rings of Brass, homebrew or adapt some other published setings? Hmmm

I believe it is a litle unfair and misleading to say there aren't any megadungeons for C&C. First, there is the papa dungeon, Castle Zagyg. True, it is not in its full and finished form, but it does exist -- it just needs an awful lot of skeletonization. Secondly, there is much of Dro Mandras and the Haunted Highlands material, which, while not completely in print yet (as far as Bowbe has said), gives plenty of opportunity. The major deal, in my experience, with a megadungeon is that it is too much at once -- the party is not going to explore it all, and certainly not in many sessions (I'm assuming around 100 or so) which should give plenty of time to add more stuff to it, either officially or by using player-created schisms.

But, others have given some good advice about it, so I'll try the new question -- I find homebrew with adaptations to be the best. It gives the players a sense of the familiar yet does not let them know everything.

Well, I think the potential shopper actually might want something that is both in print, and not $350 on ebay.

Or, they should be given their options and allowed to decide on their own.

Well, CZ UW isn't a "megadungeon." It would have been, if it were allowed to be completed.

When I think "megadungeon" I think about sizes like Rappan Athuk or Undermountain. CZ wasn't there yet, at least in print.
