No problem Ink. And thanks to you and the others for the support. And please don't ever hesitate to give us a shout when you have concerns about these things as sometimes we get our heads stuck up our collective....err, you get the picture.
I must say Peter has been working like a mad man and has become a gigantic asset to TLG. Without his help and hard work I don't know where we would be now. So, my hat's off to 20 Dollar Bradley!! TROLLZAH!!! (and follow ink's suggestion, just quit sleeping!! LOL)

Just some random barbarian musings:
While I see the point of C&C having its own identity, and that's surely a good thing, the reason I took the plunge was a combination of D20 Fatigue and a desire to use all of my old BECMI and 1st & 2nd ed AD&D materials without having to go back to any of those games (BECMI/RC has the "race as class" thing and lacks a lot of the cool spells, 1st ed has a bunch of clunky rules I don't like and 2nd ed is like 1st ed with a lot of the flavor sucked out). So I was drawn to C&C because it looks like it combines all of things I liked from the previous editions, and avoids all the pitfalls.
But if it wasn't for "Night's Dark Terror" and "Hidden Shrine of Tamoachan" and other great mods already being in my collection, I would have probably held back.
The thing that's nice about materials like modules is that their value extends beyond raw sales. They create sort of a web of support for the game... not only do they give the game a larger presence in stores but they also can potentially hook people in or keep them interested just by being a fascinating product in their own right.
If TLG can produce supplemental stuff that's as good as the stuff from the old days I bet it can hook people in. Or maybe I'm just from a passing generation... one that saw an attack by Giant Frog People on the cover of "Dwellers of the Forbidden City" and had to have it!

I think you guys are doing great and I too forget that you aren't a bigger publisher. Also I think that in the age of instant everything we forget what true patience is and need to remeber it wasn't so long ago that most of us would only get small amounts of material due to availability and lack of outlets to buy.
As to the identity thing, I think it is a double edged sword. Yes, C&C does well being so close to D&D but at the same time it hurts it. I know for me I am more apt to use older material for inspiration rather than conversion anymore but I know others will convert. That's not a bad thing but if exposure to C&C comes in the form of a D&D emulator that can cause newer players to balk thinking it is just 1e all over again.
Personally I would rather see the rules light flexability touted over the 'old school' comparisons.

Well said, Korgoth!
....I dont' see why its an either-or argument. Simply tailor your emphasis to your audience. For Old Schoolers, emphasize the OS feel and compatibility of C&C with OOP A/D&D. For those not familiar with the older system, emphasize rules light and streamlined mechanics.
Its possible. Just ask Gideon.

Great stuff to hear! Knowing a bit of the game plan is a good thing. Now I just hope 2007 is a good financial year for me so I can keep up with buying your product and go to GenCon, the LGGC, and TrollConV.
Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

"and the revived diety books Codex Germania, Codex Galicia etc "
Doc Classicist asks ... what in the name of Athena's brazen ta-ta's are these?
They look like regional codices inspired by classical history, but I'm probably just guilty of an optimistic imagination. The mysterious "diety" reference might equally well mean they are rpg cookbooks.
Cheers,
Christopher

Okay, I got ahold of Aztecman finally. He's been offline for a week or so due to a move or some such stuff. But the updates, with new announcements will go up tonight and through the weekend.
So without further delay....except this one...announcements will be made soon.
Sorry for the delay.

Cool updates! Thanks for keeping the community up-to-date! Hopefully I'll get my box of goodies I ordered from the sale soon enough in order to plan and plot my next round of purchases!

More updates up. I'll send a general press release out when we fix a few things. Here's what will go up in the next few days (its Monday the 22 Oct right now)
Basic Rules updated ad copy
Chimera's Roost
Return Engineering Dungeons to Anvil
Remove Engineering Dungeons from Anvil
Wait for Robert to get edgy
Return Engineering Dungeons to Anvil
LOL (for some reason Robert has fallen in that black hole of I always spell his name wrong, we forget him etc...he's in very prestigious company as my oldest friend, Todd Gray, is in that black hole as well. I've known him for 20 years and mispelled his last name countless times...including the Codex of Erde!)
