The main problem the mag has suffered rests entirely with me. As Managing Editor I am responsible for getting material assigned, returned and to the editor and typesetter. Sadly, running the company is also my job, and its a full time job. Yes, I clock in at 830-9 and clock out about 5, return for a few hours in the late and wee hours of the morn. But there is alot to be done. I have been reluctant to let go of the helm of the magazine because, for one, its my baby, conceived of by me and supported by my efforts. But also, finding someone I can trust isn't easy.
Lately I've been giving this some thought, if the mag is to be competitive and to grow it has to be monthly. I know the mag has what it *takes* to grow, its just giving the mag what it *needs* to grow. I've considered several options but it always ends with I need some to run it for me, the down and dirty of bringing the pieces together. To this end I had lunch with an a friend of mine and we came to a nice arrangement for the job. He's very experienced and wants to take on the task, both very good bonuses for TLG, the magazine and the reader. He's signed on for the next four issues and hopefully it works out so that he stays for a good long while . . . he and I are both hoping that I think!
I've just now sent introductions around to the Crusader writers, editors, artists and the new Chief with introductions. I'm going to give him the weekend to get his feet a little wet and make the announcement on Monday.
So stay tuned for some solid info about the Crusader I think you will all be happy to hear.
Now, with all this in mind, if any of you have some interesting letters to the editor you would like to send in, it would be a welcome addition to the magazine.
Steve

Hi Steve!
At Winter Dark you mentioned you really needed short, containable one-shot adventures for Crusader - I'm assuming this need increases with going monthly?
Also, as any of us who may want to submit do so, should we continue to submit to troll@trolllord or will this new feller be the person to bug with e-mails pleading our case?

Hey John,
Is was great getting to know you. For now, send submissions to me here at troll@trolllord.com. I don't know what the procedure will be in the coming weeks, but we'll get the info out there.
Thanks!
Steve

Me too, me too!
It should be a very nice surprise for Crusader-philes. On that note, I finished the map I needed for H&A, Crusader #9, so that's ready to submit.
Roll 'em out!

Yes, lets get the CKG done. Plus everything else!
Seriously though. Slow and easy release schedule is all my finances can keep up with these days.

Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

The Century of Skulls refers to a prophecy set forth by venerates of a Deposed Demonlord who was defeated in the battle of 100 heroes.
Yorgach's goal is to collect the hundred heads (Century of Skulls) of the descendants of these heroes in order to complete the ritual that would free his patron Demon.
More of this will eventually be developed. Needless to say the more skulls that Yorgach gains, the more powerful he becomes.
How's that?
Steve and I are moving forward with the best presentation of the Fields of Battle (mass combat rules) product. Looking like we are leaning towards a box set chuck full of extras, but we'll wait on the official word for that one!
Likewise we are looking for the best possible publication niche for the Black Libram of Nartarus. It isn't technically a "DB" product because it isn't an adventure per say, so we have to think about how that one goes out the door and into your waiting hands.
When not working on CKG stuff I have been plinking away at a 2nd "Folio" for the region surrounding the Crater of Umeshti. Initially it was going to be crater 3, but it will include details of the Fortress of the Three, Ulgakur, and Fanderburg at very least, possibly more places depending on space!
Thanks to all for your patience and interest!

Now it needs: art, layout + the "Treasure" side of the tome.

I'm thinking that with the CZ madness behind TLG (at least for the moment), that will free up some resources to work on new projects. And if that is the case, 2009 is going to be some kind of fantastic year!
