I love it when a plan comes together.

Okay, I admit that my first reaction to the topic title was "oh please" but that trailer really brought out the kid in me. I'll go see it.

I'm all over that. Joe Carnahan (NARC, Smokin' Aces) can really deliver a movie, and this flick is going to rock.

My question is this: unlike the series, does anyone actually get shot in this flick? I remember storms of bullets in every show, but no one ever got hit. Cars flipped on top of bad guys, only to show them crawling out, banged up but okay. Man that is hilarious when I flip past the reruns now, but back when I was a kid, that show was badass to me. I will probably see the flick just for the nostalgia.

Who knows about the hitting targets in this movie, but I would guess that their accuracy is going to be a lot better in this movie version. Audiences today probably won't put up with campy action like the old TV series. However, if I were to guess, there will probably be some throwbacks to the old show like a a thousand bullets being fired and not a single hit. When this happens expect a line like "I can't believe nobody was hit."
The MIAI falling out of the back of the plane and Faceman shooting the .50 cal to down a drone is, um, a little fantastical though.

Hmm... I might see it two weeks after release, to see if Rampage is a good replacement for Mr. T

??
I still see plenty of movies with storms of bullets flying and people still not getting hit, or only just minorly wounded, and the movies were still big hits.

Well, people got hit in GI Joe, so there's hope for this one.

That was just the red head. Cause everyone wanted to hit it.

My expectations will be much lower for an A-Team flick, although I was a big fan of the old series. G.I. Joe...I wanted more Larry Hama Marvel comic, and Devil's Due Press, but got nothing of the sort.
I'm on dial up, so I won't try to follow the A-Team link. That said, the .50 cal drone moment isn't too fantastical. Let's face it, Peppard and the boys made a flamethrower out of a wash tub, and some hose(in the original)

In. Deed. Baroness wasn't too bad either.
As far as A-Team, they can't possibly top the cabbage cannon. It's on YouTube, but I'm too lazy to find a link.

My favourite was the helicopter crashing into the side of a cliff, falling hundreds of feet to the ground and exploding, then the crew bailing out unharmed. Talk about the GM fudging the dice rolls!

Well, it was essentially a kid's show in the 80's. It was tied into action figures (I had them) and comic books (I still have them). Showing people get shot would have been SHOCKING for a prime-time tv show oriented to younger male viewers.
Things changed when the 90s brought in a darker standard.
Consider if Miami Vice was shown on Tuesdays at 8 PM like the A-Team. That's a pretty gritty crime drama and in that time, NBC would not have dared show it earlier than 10 PM. Miami Vice was a hugely popular show, but was accepted it was not for kids - no merchandising whatsoever.
The Dukes of Hazzard used bows, not guns, and they usually shot out tires. Roscoe and Enos would draw their guns, but the General Lee's dust cloud would always keep them from firing. It, too, was a kid's show (with the possible exception of Catherine Bach's shorts).
As a movie (probably PG-13) there's no reason that the A-Team would not show people being shot. The audience is slightly different, and the culture has changed considerably as well.
As a point of trivia, the only character to take a bullet in the original series was B.A. Baracus. He was shot in the leg.
