Work in progress map of Malforten!
Work in progress map of Malforten!
So I was bored and started playing around with Campaign Cartographer again to see what I could come up with for the town of Malforten from Rising Knight. Here is the work in progress so far:
Looking good I just hope you cut back on the cloud cover.

Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

We just finished this adventure a few weeks ago. I changed the plot around a bit to where the townsfolk were waylaying travelers and sending them off to the temple to be sacrificed instead of their own people. Amanda the Druid tried to warn the PC's and in turn was taken as the next sacrifice instead of the PC's. They went and rescued her but not before the vengeful fey put the whole town to sleep permanently in outrage.
Now Malforten is known as "The Sleeping Village" where all the denizens are mysteriously held in suspended animation for ever without end.
Good stuff.

Cool looking little map. Nice work. I'm looking forward to running these adventures in a campaign one day when the Umbrage Saga box comes in. And I think I have gotten a little inspiration form Secret Skeleton. Thanks!

I just got my new Umbrage box in the mail today quite by surprise. I was thinking going by the video blog that they would start shipping today (Saturday the 23rd), but apparently they went out early, for low and behold, I came home from my morning run at the track to find a large USPS box sitting on the table from TLG!
The newer box color is very nice and the graphic of the map behind it is nice as well. I wish, in retrospect, that they would've mixed up the colors of the PHB, M&T, and CKG. For instance, have the PHB in red, the M&T in green or gold, and the CKG in blue like the Umbrage box.
The actual adventure book is quite nice and the maps are a bonus as well! The only knock I could possibly give it is that the one area map of the Hruesen River valley is kinda' thin like magazine paper and I could see it tearing or getting creased easily. The other, larger world map of the New Aenoch area is on thicker paper and is well done as well. Not really a big deal, just a small nitpick if that. Nothing a 3M self-laminating pouch won't take care of.
Other than that, for $20 you get a heck of a lot of adventure! Certain other companies should take note of how their 160 page products that retail for $30, of which, 12-18 pages are monsters and another 12-18 are useless lairs and maps for delves that most people will probably not use, pale in comparison as far as value per dollar. Good work!
