A CALL TO ARMS!! C&C on Geekdo!!

Gang,
If you're familiar at all with Board Game Geek (
www.boardgamegeek.com), then you'll know the potential that Geekdo (
www.geekdo.com) has for promoting RPGs.
Board Game Geek (BBG) is *the* place for anything board game related on the 'net. Just celebrating its 10th year, t's a social hub, marketplace, archive - anything related to ANY board game can be found there.
Geekdo has teamed with BBG (or vice versa). This means that what BBG has done for boardgames, Geekdo wishes to do for RPGs!!
Castles and Crusades has an entry there -
http://rpg.geekdo.com/rpg/509/castles-crusades
WE NEED TO MAKE THIS ENTRY OURS!! Firstly, we need folks to rate the game. I believe it takes 5 individual ratings* for a game to be ranked. We need to get C&C RANKED so we can get noticed along with Pathfinder and 4th ed D&D. Imagine the buzz we could generate for C&C if we could get the game ranked - all by users, mind you - right up there with the purported "big boys". I think C&C has that kind of following... let's show it!
Join Geekdo and start contributing to the C&C entry. Scans of product covers are needed for specific entries. Photos of folks playing C&C, reviews, FAQs...anything! We need to have a presence there to answer posts, comment on reviews, counter falsehoods, free our captive women, etc.!!
If the RPG side of Geekdo gets anywhere near as *famous* and *influential* as the much older BBG side has, this could be a boon for C&C!!
* There are currently 4 ratings: 10, 8, 7, and a 2 for the love of Pete!
SUCCESS!!
Lee (FASAfan on BBG - who has one of only two personal comments posted for the game and who rated the C&C a '10'!)

Seven fans now.
It took me a while to figure out how to indicate I am a FAN of the game, but I still do not know how to rate it.
How do I rate the game itself and the individual items too?

Yep, that site has a lot of stuff about games and such, but it is FAR from being user friendly as to how to go about doing stuff.
I have found BoardGameGeek to be the same.

It's complicted, and somewhat hidden to rate items. It's the type of thing that you have to play around with in order to find everything.[/no help]

Yeah, they messed with something that worked before recently: the interface before this "new and improved" version worked just fine.
Go down to the very bottom of the page (or item page, whatever). There will be a blue bar that says "User Information". Click on Record Information.
To rate, click on the "N/A" that is probably to the left of the rating.
You can add all sorts of things, including recording of plays! Yes, we can record the number of plays and that shows up as Number of Plays per month! We can really promote this thing!
BTW adding things to an RPG's entry (links, pictures, etc.) qualifies you for "Geek Gold". Geek Gold can be used to add stuff to your "handle" (Geek Badges, Avatar, etc.)
Looks like we're ranked!! Number 241... we need more users to rank it!! That puts us right behind Paranoia 5th edition...!??

Thanks Lee, gave the Main RPG itself a 10 rating.
And I also listed all the individual items that I currently own.
Now that took a LONG time to do, since I have almost all of them.

It might take a long time to do, but one the database is updated, it will be a breeze to go in and post your information.
I'm with FASAfan, the RPGGeek version just seems so much more unweildy to use than BGG. Oh well.
Thanks for getting the word out FASA!

Well, I've done so...reviewed both the PHB and M&T - but not sure if, after doing so, they SAVED. (There didn't seem to be a 'save' button).

LOL!! I actually e-mailed the guy who gave it a '2' and asked him - politely- why. I basically said, "Hey, the game I gave a '10' to, you gave a '2', LOL! You didn't leave a comment. Just wondering why!"

Already put my 2-cents in over there.

Then again, those guys couldn't count to two. They probably go to an outside counting consultant to figure out how many PHBs they need to play the game.

I didn't e-mail the guy, but I found rather amusing that I have rated most other games with the same rating as he used.
FWIW, If you only rated C&C at this site, your rating will not be given the it's full weight. This because the Geekdo site uses a Bayesian Averaging Algorithm. It will drop out people ratings if they only rate a few items, especially if they only give out very high or low scores. Note that as of tonight C&C has an average score of 9.0 but is still ranked 256thed.

Do we just need to go and rate a whole bunch of things to make our scores count more then?

Just need to rate. Get some scores up there if you can.

Ok, I am still muffing around with the interface. I added a bunch of individual books to My Collection and rated them, but didn't see the rating appear for the product (After Dark Setting still shows no rating); did someone say it needs 5 ratings to appear? Not a user friendly deal to be sure. And for C&C to be rated as a system, I can't find a way to do that, only rate the PHB and whatnot. Am I missing something?

The average rating has climbed to 9.03, however C&C is now fallen to 260th .
This because the geek rating is only 5.58
The site does have a help section:
http://rpg.geekdo.com/wiki/page/User_Guide
If you scroll down and read the Rankings section it explains it better than I did in my previous post. In short most people who rated C&C are being considered "Shills" which is apparently Geekdo for fanboy.
The site is not user friendly and uses fancypants statisical methods which I think are not really appropraite.... besides I believe in the expression "figures lie and liars figure".
