So the players handbook is 4th ed and hard back.
Monsters and Treasures is 4th ed and hard back.
Gods and Monsters is not 4th(but has a cover like it is ) and is softbound (and out on amazon.com)
did I get that right?

Actually there are softcovers of all of them, but you could only get those at Troll Con and Gen Con, or directly from TLG. M&T is only on its 3rd printing, not 4th.
Yes, "Of Gods and Monsters" will not be an HC for a while yet, only softcover, TLG is getting hit by economics like everyone, so won't be doing an HC on it just yet.
Edit: Of Gods and Monsters is part of the "4th Crusade", but this is its first printing. It was just released this past July, or there abouts.

While the hardcovers are nice, I have no problem with the softcovers. In some ways, I'm finding that I actually prefer them.

Treebore answered this quite nicely.
We are still working on expanding our capabilities and though we CAN do them as hardback the quality control did not pass muster. Last August I presented several hardback version of Gods to Davis (my brother, co-founder blah blah) and it took him 30 seconds to reject them all.
But we are working on that and I suspect to have the abilities soon.

One minor quibble here. These are the fourth print not the fourth edition. Calling the books by the edition tags makes C&C sound like it goes through editions faster than M:tG does.
