EVERYTHING beats the overused, over glorified, cave elves. Yes, we've been beat over the head for far to long with these asshats. Yes, we know that even baby drow are born like 10th level wizard/ninjas. Yes, we know they are Evil. Yes they are tired and played out.

Plus....Wemics actually are pretty cool.

Drow is the dynasty. Drow win.

Addionally, R.A. Salvatore and all than dark elf nuttiness ruined dark elves. Going back to the beginning, they are pretty cool, especially when presented in DragonLance or Mystara. Strip out your Forgotten Realms image of the dark elf and they are cool again.

Well, it took a long time to do, but Ill agree that somewhere along the line Drow became very overexposed. As a kid Ill admit I ran them with great fervor and thought they were awesomeness. Now they dont exist in any of my campaign worlds. They are an embarrassment to almost any serious campaign nowadays, although Im sure that some supernoid CK out there could prove me wrong.

I voted for drow because drow bolts would be bad for a wemic. I do not think a wemic could kill 4 HD of drow before it got in at least a few bolts.

Drow are more easily suited for the generally humanocentric game worlds that are ran most often, whereas the wemic is more a "rough fit" like barbaric centaurs... both are not good adventuring companions, if one imposes the actual restrictions of such things. Straight-out ability: drow win. Straight-out WTF factor: wemic. Serleran vote... guess.

I guess Wemics are a 2nd ed critter. sounds like everyone looked it up already, but they're like centaurs but with lions instead of horses. There are also Zebranaurs, which are zebra centaurs, more traditional.

Looking back, I'm thinking there was some africa-centric monsterous compendium? maybe a forgotten realms dealie. Anywho, I always thought Wemics were cool. It was them or flumpf for the tiebreaker, so ....

I'm almost positive they were in the 1st Edition MMII. It would require me to go down stairs and pull the book out though.....and I'm to lazy.
