Why I like Cubicle 7....

Post by Treebore »

Not only do I like what they help get published, such as Wild Talents (Slimy you better run this one!), Starblazer, Qin, Doctor Who, and others, but I also like their customer service.

I recently ordered the Wild Talents 2E book, and was supposed to get a free PDF with my order. After about 18 hours I contacted Cubicle 7 about not getting the PDF. I got a response telling me how Arc Dream had to send me the coupon code for RPGNow, and that he had forwarded my e-mail to them.

Well, this kept going from this past Saturday to about 15 minutes ago, but Cubicle 7 stuck with me, kept bugging Arc Dream for me, and I finally got my PDF.

So not only do these people pick cool RPG's to publish, but they also know good customer service.

Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

Good company, good products, good people. They're aces in my book.

I like the production value of their products. I will admit my Victoriana book has some misprinted pages, but I have taken no action towards getting it replaced. With your testimony, I will contact their customer service.

Indeed. It's cool that they really do listen to gamers. Early in the lead up to Starblazer Adventures Chris Birch and I were emailing back and forth ideas. It's just cool.

Well, I'll consider buying something they make. Just have to figure out what that something might be.

Hard to believe that they share the same office space and are under the same umbrella as Mongoose Games. Kind of like the Ying and the Yang of rpg's.

Doesn't hurt that they keep getting very cool licenses like Lord of the Rings.

Lord of the Rings is the only thing I'm interested in from these guys, and only because of the production values. I hear there have some uber famous Tolkien artists doing some of the art.

Yeah, I picked up their '100 Sci-fi Adventure Seeds' -which is game system neutral- and I must say, I'm purty impressed.

What a nifty, truly usable item.

Not to worry Treebore, I'm straining at the bit to run this one!

That on the other hand jumps up to close to the top of the list!

I dunno... not really a fan of playing in a setting that is novelized or adored by everyone in the game group because I don't want them to say something like "that cannot happen because the Bible of Holy Written Words forbids it; it happens like this..." and then I have to hear how it "really works" even if its my game. Same reason I never cared to play Star Wars or Star Trek (aside from them both being sci-fi (which I find boring to play.) So, while the LotR might be a great, awesome, game... it's doubtful I'd even touch a book much less buy it and play.

Might be fun to play in a game like that, ran by someone else...

Oh yeah, I forgot they put out a cool version of Barbarians of Lemuria too. So Barbarians of Lemuria and Middle-Earth. That's it.

Actually for the last 4 years they (Mongoose) have been top notch as well, both in books and customer service. Like who else would give you a new Traveller Core book because they printed a new one with better art in it and you complained? No one. So Mongoose is in my top 5 as well over the last few years.

No, I am not the one who complained.

Yep, Mongoose's customer service is really good and they've been handling Traveller and Runequest very, very well in my opinion.

My friend had six consecutive Pathfinder Adventure Path books fall apart during the first or second session of play. He complained of this on the forums and was given a single replacement.

He complained again when the replacement fell apart.

Lisa Stevens told him he was using the book incorrectly.

I have only used parts of two AP's so far, but neither of mine are in danger of falling apart. Which AP did this? I could see this happening if he tries to force them to lay open flat.

I really like what I have read so far in their Starbalzer Adventures RPG, although we have not actually played any sessions as of yet.

I look forward to seeing their LotR RPG.
I really like the world. I still play and run the old MERP RPG modified with a few RM rules when we are not playing C&C.
