Need help with Forgotten Realms pic.
Need help with Forgotten Realms pic.
So I stumbled across the D&D coffee table book, "30 Years of Adventure" at a close-out bookstore for $2. Thumbing through it I saw a lot of good artwork and I figured, for $2, what the heck. So I noticed a particularly cool-looking piece of artwork on about the 6th page in, in the lower-lefthand corner, of a warrior with a winged helm holding his sword which is resting on the ground at a 45 degree angle to himself. He appears to either be gazing at something or off into the distance. Going by the style, it looks to possibly be a Jeff Easley piece of art. The same picture appears in color later in the book under the Forgotten Realms entry of "Worlds of Adventure". Does anyone know who did this artwork or where I can find a decent pic of it? I'd scan it but my old-school scanner doesn't work under Windows 7.
P.S.- If anyone has the book and could scan the pic to show people what I'm talking about, I'd be greatful!

Hmm, I don't think it's Jeff Easley.
This book is an enigma to me. Full of excellent material but presented in the worst possible way with an awful layout . . . that makes me want to punch whoever was in charge.
Yep, it's worth about 2-5 $. I paid $5 plus a few for shipping and I was incredibly disappointed.

Yeah, I already knew about the layout, typos, etc. I figured for $2 though, why not. Something to read when I'm not busy with anything. Hey Rhu, would it be possible to take a pic of that guy and post it?
It was the cover art for the module Doom of Daggerdale. I'm pretty sure it's Jeff Easley's work.

Taking a look at the detail in the leaves on the ground also leads me to beleive that it is Jeff Easley. Cool pic though.

Wow, you guys know your artists!
I guess I'm not that familiar with Jeff's later work. The image seems darker and certainly less colorful than his other great stuff. Perhaps, TSR wanted him to go in this direction . . maybe to fit the atmosphere of the Realms.

I know I have a copy of the module somewhere at home. I'll have to dig through my stuff and see if there is any artist credit in it.

Not good enough! I'll have to check mine as well to see if it has the same information. It just might say Jeff Eastly or Jim Easley or...

Wow, what a guess on the artist! It just seemed to have the feel of Easley in his latter days with TSR. Now if I could only find a big scan of that cover to make it into a desktop of about 1920x1080! Man, I long for the days of 2nd Edition's artwork compared to today's "art". I know "differing styles" and all, but....come on.
