Ungern Miniatures

For those of you that use miniatures, have you found anything that works well for ungern?

My group won't see Ungern until our next adventure - Slag Heap, but I do have something that's close. In the wotc deathknell series, there is something called an Ibixian that seems close. Here' the pic:

Here's another one that might work. I don't have it yet, from the War of the Dragon Queen set:

Thanks Rhuvein.

I hadn't considered WOTC's prepainted miniatures. Originally, I was considering a werewolf type mini and possibly adding some horns. I've been looking at the Confrontation miniatures online, but I'm not sure of their scale (or my paint skills).

I've also considered buying a regiment of Warhammer Beastmen.

There are elements in both of your examples that I like Rhuvein, but neither quite does it for me. After reading Slag Heap, I considered replacing ungern in my campaign with minotaurs (but keeping the name ungern), but I'm not sure if that is the direction I still want to go. To me, the picture in Slag Heap presents a different looking ungern than the ones I read about in the Codex.

Although the above picture does not show it, the beastmen have cloven feet. As I prepared this message, I realized I'm learning more towards the Warhammer miniatures.

That said, I'm still open for suggestions!

The werewolf type looks pretty darn good, even if you don't use him for an ungern, but I agree the Warhammer guy looks much better. Are they pre-painted?

Heh, I didn't even notice the ungern drawing in Slag Heap, as I usually go to the Codex for pics when we're running our game.

I seriously doubt I could get the wolfen to look that nice. The Warhammer miniatures are not prepainted, but I'm more confident that I could make those work. You can pick up a Beast Herd of twenty plastic miniatures for around $25. That might be my starting paint.

There are some pretty cool minotaur miniatures in the Beasts of Chaos line, but they are a little too expensive for me. Someday maybe...

I think the Warhammer minis is a better way to go for me, than trying to collect a bunch of the above figures from wotc, even if they are common. I'll have to take a look at picking up some of the beastmen. Thanks for the tip!
