I always thought that the old Dragon series of articles was very underrated. I for one would be very interested in similar series with heroes from history, literature and mythology.

I've never heard of this series of articles, or don't remember it. What were they?

It was an article that took well-known fictional characters, whether from novels or mythology, and statted them out, basically. So, in one, you might have Conan, and in another you'd get Perseus, or Gilgamesh, or maybe even Aragorn.

Oh, yeah, I'm so totally seeing Genghis Khan as a barbarian knight bard.

I can think of hundreds of historical figures that I would like to see stated out. I don't know how the figures from movies and literature would work out- I guess it depends on whether they violate any copywrites.

It could also be tied into historical setting information as well- for example stats for the Norwegian king Olaf in an article about the Vikings and their tactics and weapons or Cuchulain, Finn Mac Cool and the Celts.

I remember Giants in the Earth fondly as well, and agree as well - it would be a nice short column for the Crusader.

That it was random - a difference source each month, added to it.

I to remember the articles fondly I always lean toward historic games, well as historic as elves & orcs can be.

I think Ive got some old 1e/2e Roland, El Cid, etc around somewhere but with my test for MSgt, a big training even coming, & the next generation of Rouell soon to be here Im not sure Id be able to convert them in a timely mater.

I always thought it was a cool article and would love to see it in the Crusader.

Y'know, if you guys want this sort of thing, write a letter to the editor... Steve's always yelling how he wants more letters. So, send him some! Make the poor bastard read. He hates it.

What would be the odds of it being read?
I'm planning on making a right up of the Celtic myth heroes and sending it in to either Crusader or the Keeper.
