We are definitely considering this, but with the new puppy, we're not sure how feasible... and, I will not have her put into a kennel (I hate seeing puppies in cages; breaks my heart.) Check on their pet policy. A fair number of hotels allow pets, others allow them with non refundable deposits. Usually around $25, to pay for the cleaning they have to do afterwards, for their follow up customers who are allergic to dogs, cats, etc....
Service dogs can be refused by no one. Nor can they charge you "deposits".

I'll be there....and hey, I might even consider wearing deodorant throughout the weekend.
Am I a nice guy, or what?
*Oh, for those that want to join Jay and I for early morning swims at the hotels indoor swimming pool (hey, it helps perk you up after those all night binges,) don't forget your bathing suits. Most people don't think to bring swim trunks considering it's October when the con takes place, but their pool is nice.
And Jay may even play footsies with you once you get in.

I don't think jumping in the pool counts as wearing deoderant, Glad.
Or, maybe it does. Must contemplate further. Note to self: Bring a bucket o' chlorine.
Just playin'.

I wouldn't call them early morning swims. Maybe crack-of-noon swims. But seriously, the hotel has a really nice indoor pool and hot tub. Last year, Sean Patrick Fannon was running a game in the pool atrium (but got yelled at for leaving the door propped open). Ka-ha.

Ok, after hearing Omote pimp this con in person, I'm giving it serious consideration. It really sounds like a blast.
By the way, it has a Facebook page for those into that.

YES! Well, the Trolls are setting up TrollCon east in Jersey. Perhaps Con-on-the-Cob is going to become TrollCon Mid-West North now. If Frost can make it, there will be NO STOPPING US!

In case anybody is interested, I just posted a C&C thread on the Con-on-the-Cob message boards that they have on Facebook. Let those folks know that the Crusade is heading to Hudson Ohio this year!!!
Wow, I can't beleive that this convention is less than 3 months away!
On Facebook, look up CON-ON-THE-COB or go to their website
http://www.cononthecob.com/ and click on CotC FORUMS

Rigon and I were just talking about CotC last night. It sounds like we'll have a decent showing.

Sad to say, but my attendance seems unlikely now. My wife has to make an emergency trip to Poland in the near future to visit her ailing father (things look very bleak). As you can imagine, a last minute ticket to Poland is not cheap.
Bad news all around.

Suckage. Maybe you can drive over for a day of gaming goodness. Hudson is probably only a couple of hours from you.

Frost, I don't know you, but that has to be tough. I'll keep you and your wife (and family) in my thoughts.

I'm very sorry about your father-in-law, Frost. Your family's in my thoughts.

Thanks for the kind words, everyone.
We're off to NYC tonight to get her passport sorted out.
Anyhow, I'll shoot for Con-on-the-Cob in 2011 for sure!

Reading Fields of Battle today and was thinking, instead of running an adventure, why not do a session or two of FoB. I'm definately leaning that way.

Make sure you sign up. I'm planning 2-4 players for each session and I'm only running two sessions. I haven't signed up over at CotC yet, so keep an eye out over there.

The Mrs. talked to my nephew while I was at TC and he expressed an interest in going to CotC with me. He in his early twenties and used to game with me when I still lived near my family. He's a bit doofy, but he's an ok kid.
I'm gonna start looking for a room soon so I can hopefully get the best price for the weekend. Anyone notice if CotC has gotten a Con rate for rooms yet?

I't not sure what I'm I'm going to do about Con-on-the-Cob yet. I live 25 minutes away, but an thinking about getting a room for the con, even if only a night or two.
I wish they would update the site.

My nephew has commited to going to CotC with me and is very excited. He said he has never been to a con, but has wanted to go to one for a while. I linked him to TLG to get an idea of the game I play now and he is going to check it out. I assured him he would have fun.

Andy Hopp and his family were just on a big honking road trip (Akron - Seattle and back), so there hasn't been much progress or news on CotC. I'm not sure how much will happen with GenCon looming next weekend, either. But I assume he'll be full-bore on the Cob (that's what SHE said) as soon as the Gennie dust settles.
Thanks for posting the con rate, Chuck. Glad and I will be splitting a room, as usual, though I won't be able to get there until noon on Friday. GaryCon ate a vacation day I'd have normally used for CotC (but it was pretty much worth it).
