It is indeed a great piece of artwork for a CKS. Though I must ask, is there any chance (realistically) of another CKS being produced? Possilby one that has a new peice of PB original artwork on it?

Then i realized it WAS from 2 years ago, and I didn't feel as dumb anymore

That would be really cool but expensive I suspect. I know the markup on the current CK screen is not much at all.

Yeah, I figure they'd run a bit much but I'd be willing to pay for 'em (I'm a sucker for a good solid screen). But, just because I would, doesn't mean that others would as well.

Its an idea I will kick up the chain to Steve. I would really enjoy a screen like that as well. The WFRP2 and DH screens are AMAZING due in no small part to the heavy stock they are printed on.

If they can keep it at or under $20 I would like one too.

No way, TLG needs to go the other direction. Some companies have been having "the world's biggest" or "the world's deadliest..." so, TLG should go with "the world's most expensive!" A CK Screen that costs $500, made from mammoth hide, gilded edges, inked with liquid platinum by an ivory pen, with a set of dice made from diamond.

It would cost $500 just to make each screen with all of that.

I want my personalized editions of the PHB and M&T to be bound in the hides of a baby seal which was clubbed down by a chainmail dice bag full of TLG collector's dice....during the Winterdark Con.

Can't just go expensive ingredients, lets get specifics too.

But Tree, the current screen is already $20.

Ah! Guess the price I am remembering was from the madness sale. Well, if I can get it at the next Madness sale for $20 I am in.

The screen is actually up for reprinting as the first run is about sold out. I've asked Jason to bring me a copy of this fabled screen you speak of so that I can see what stock it is.

Can they be reprinted in landscape instead of portrait orientation so we can see over the top of them?

Am I the only one who likes the old C&C screen as is? Personally, I think it is rawkin'.

I like the current screen, although I wish it included a brief section on turning undead. I just don't get to play often enough (and even then, I don't always have undead involved) to remember the rules off the top of my head. I have to review that section of the PHB before every play session. Maybe I'm just getting old and my brain is useless, but it would be very handy to have short blurb on turning undead to save me from my incompetence.

If some of you saw the awesomeness of the thick stock screens I suspect you'd be turned like the missing "turn undead" section on the existing screen

What the hell is the point of the super-duper heavy-duty card stock screens? If they stand upright, who cares what kind of card-stock they use?

What is, seriously, the point of a CK Screen? Are there really that many things to remember? I mean, I basically just go with "base 12 - Prime, base 18 if not." The rest I make up. :)

I often refer to the screen for weapon damage, class abilities, and the like.

I have to admit I often forget I even have a CK screen because of how easy C&C is to run.

So I assume that both of you cats roll your dice out in the open for all to see? That's not how I roll.

Yes, it makes people nervous watching those random die rolls. I just don't mention what I'm rolling for.

No, I don't roll all my dice in the open, but I also rely on my players to know the weapon damage of their attacks, and I always know how much my bad guys deliver. :)

Its not being negative... just a curious question. In the past, like, say, AD&D with the variable save tables, turning charts, and so forth, a screen made a lot of sense -- all the rules, condensed. But, C&C is not like that... just one thing to remember, really.

Though, it is cool to have something to scare the players with by rolling behind it....

Haha Pete! THey can hear it when I roll on that table and their hearts are gripped with anxiety wondering what the hell breakdaddy is about to deploy next!

Well, Robert, that's fine if that's how you do it I just like the convenience offered by the screen. I also like the look of the screen, Pete did a great job on the artwork so why not set it up at the table if you've got it?
