It's not often that I post work over here, but I thought there might be some folks on this board who don't often stop by Dragonsfoot.
This is my entry for the Gary Gygax Memorial Art project over there. What does Gygax mean to you?

I think you've captured the wonderment in all of us when we all first got into D&D back in the day. We were young (check,) had great imagination due to our youthfulness (check,) we all had the cool Crown Royal bag to hold our dice in (check) and yes, some of us even dressed up while playing.......(OK, not a check for me, but I know some did. )

So do two of the guys I play with every Saturday.
I prefer the little wooden box that used to contain an Xacto set I got for Xmas in 1987 or so.

I did not have the pleasure of knowing Mr. Gygax but I think he would have greatly enjoyed your painting that evokes the spirit and attitude of the day. I knew a large gamer that looked like your little fellow, except writ large. Let me assure you it is a bit more intimidating at troll size. Now put it behind the DM's (ahem) screen and you have the version I knew.

Jay, once again, you created a painting that is odd creepy, yet stranglely evocative. Well done.

You could define Jason as being odd, creepy and strangely evocative too............

I think creepy sums him up quite nicely.

Awww shucks! And Rigon's never even seen my garden gnome collection! He just gets to hear me (usually full of booze) on Skype every-other Sunday.
Thanks guys, I'm glad you like the art. I'll be dragging this one along with me to show at Con on the Cob in Akron this weekend.

Jay, is that Akron, Oh? That's just down the road about an hour and a half. Unfortunately, I'll be heading the other way this weekend. Big fall festival in my hometown. The Mrs is making me go. Anywho, have fun.

Yeah Chuck. This will be the Con's 4th year in Akron, OH. The dude who runs it is a crazy fantasy illustrator (andyhopp.com), so in addition to the gaming, there are lots of fun and bawdy art-themed activities. This will be my first year at the Con, but I'm hoping to make it an annual event!
