Post LA Magic ?
I'll admit that playing a magic user is a rarity for me. So, I am always weak in understanding strengths and weaknesses of a game's magic system. Because of that, I read over LA's magic and think it is ok. However

I actually like the system until the magic. I never could buy into how he has magic work. I mean, it seemed to fit the "power scale" of the game, but I just never became a fan of it. I do love playing warriors in it.

That makes me wonder, why. What is the issue, is the system completely broken & I just don't see it? Does it need a rework but is structurally sound? Does it need just a touch of tinkering?

What would you (all) suggest?

I'll admit, I am not familiar with the magic system. Care to give me a quick overview?

I am quite late for the party, but I hope you can see this. MAgic is governed by points (AEEP) generated by the Speed Attribute, not sure about the mechanic, but it was speed rating *4.
You can basically cast every spell (and augment it in some way with extra AEEP), but stronger spells require more time and points to cast. So, you can play like standard caster, or you can cast two or three phenomenal spells.
Powers are stored into purchaseable memory tablests. EACH TABLET CAN STORE to 4 spells. Actually spells are called powers here.
