Well, it was supposed to be out around June, but we are still waiting. GR is, at least, putting out the rule framework for set 2 online for playtesting...I keep checking the site to see if they have it up yet, since they said "September" but nothing so far. Looking forward to it.

I'm still waiting for a DA Cyclopedia before I make the jump. Paying $30 for 5 levels at a time isn't my cup of tea.

Got it now, thanks for posting! Looks pretty good so far, from scanning over it anyway. I realized they were going for absolute beginners in set 1, but still, I would have preferred to get all the material in set 1 and 2 as one product. Expanded stunts are cool, but as I predicted, my cool hardcover screen is already obsolete!

Big frownie face to Green Ronin for dropping the ball and failing to strike while the iron was still even a little warm on this one. My enthusiasm for this box (2) is almost nil, and they had me at hello with Box 1. WTF GR?

Just HAD to be issues with the IP.

GR is just better than this. So...has to be some other factor.

Yeah, I read a lot of what they have posted about this. There is definitely something going on they are not able to publicly say.

I would guess there are hang ups in the approval process. Meaning the owners of DA are telling GR "no", go back and redo this.

Whatever the reason, I agree with BD on this....they failed to strike while the iron was hot....I would imagine a lot of people have lost interest and/or changed game systems already. Only time will tell if they can pick up steam once again. With Dragon Age 2 on the horizon, they have a chance at capitalizing on that games marketing push. We'll see.

I agree its going to hurt them, without a doubt.

A quick scan of the playtest rules has me a little jazzed, but not seeing it on the shelf of my FLGS is a little disheartening.

I know the lack of follow-up products caused me to lose interest in the game. (The fact that my players never really bought into the system did not help either.)

If I were the type of person to get pissed off over a game not coming out on time or having any support, it might be this one. But since I don't gett pissed off over this kind of stuff, I settle for a shrug of the shoulders and cool apathy.

So, thinking I had been off the GR site for some time, I head over there to see what cool news they have on the next DA set. And of course, there is no news. I have been spoiled by TLG's constant twitter updates...you know where they are on projects, what the current focus is, etc.). GR could learn from this.

It has been months since the last post....but...this was at least appropriate IMHO!

Dragon Age Set 2 has finally arrived - in PDF form anyway over at RPGNow. Here is the blurb on it:
The Dragon Age RPG has been called the best introduction to RPGs in 30 years. Set 1 put adventurers on their path and covered characters of level 1 to 5. Now Set 2 brings them to the next stage of their journey, providing everything needed to play characters of level 6 to 10. Its many highlights include rules for playing the legendary Grey Wardens, the introduction of roleplaying and exploration stunts, nearly 40 new spells, expanded world info and character backgrounds, and the addition of specializations like arcane warrior, berserker, and assassin.
Right now it is Retailing in digits for $20.00, but if you pre-order the print set from Green Ronin's website which goes for $39.95 you can get the PDF for $5.00. As an added bonus, there is already a review up on RPGNow as well.
