Hiyas...

Just wanted to let you know we plan to have a Chiristmas party with a game of CoC as the main attraction.

Should be pretty weird.

The last gaming session of this year is Saturday (the 11th) night for me and I plan on throwing some oddities at the party.

Enjoy the Cthulhu. Rise, of Darkness, cast forth thy shade and descend once more unto insanity.

The session was really fun.
Took a long time to get going. (Wife's pc was introduced late as she had to drop her parents off and including her criminal into the party was a bit rough.)

I just love roleplaying the Lovecraft era. How can something with flapper girls, tentacles and speakeasies not be totally awesome?

The adventure was a spin on the Case of Dexter Ward (Imagine a dead wizard that possesses different hosts) with a Christmas party thrown in for flavor.

I really think CoC is better suited to a full length campaign or mini-series rather than an evenings session.

I enjoy the break from endless dungeon crawls and melting pot taverns.

I'm hoping someone eventually runs a full campaign but for now I must be appeased by the occasional game.

Does anyone else love this game?

Love it. I don't get to play CoC as much as I would like to anymore, but it is one of the all time greats. No doubt. Agreed on the mini-series aspect of Call of Cthulhu. I didn't enjoy the massive campaign as much as I enjoyed playing a series of linked adventures that lasted 4-6 sessions or so, with the possible exception of Beyond the Mountains of Madness. We played that for, probably 15 sessions or so. Very cool... before we all killed each other and went insane...
