I just finished playing this and really enjoyed it. If you like any of the various Catan games you'll most likely enjoy this too.
Anyone else tried it?
Settlers of America: Trails to Rails
Re: Settlers of America: Trails to Rails
What are the most significant gameplay differences? (Besides that the game probably has a pre-set map)

Yes, pre-set map.
To win, you must be the first to deliver all your trade goods. Said goods need to first be "unlocked", which is done by building settlements. I suppose the though is that the settlements then produce the goods.
As new areas are settled the areas most north east stop producing natural resources (wood, ore, grain, etc).
After a player has finished their turn all the other players are allowed a build phase. I found that this kept me more involved when it wasn't my turn.
It will be interesting to see what expansions get produced for this one. Maybe add Canada?
