A friend introduced me to the Pillars of the Earth board game last night. It somewhat follows the eponymous book by Ken Folliet.
The goal is to accumulate the most victory points in 6 turns by producing or buying raw materials (wood, sand, stone, and metal) and turning them into finished product. There are various events that occur, workmen you can hire, and (of course) taxes. Play time with 4 players was just over an hour.
I'm strongly considering buying it soon.
Pillars of the Earth Board Game
Re: Pillars of the Earth Board Game
Great book, for sure.
I know of the mini-series, but it's pretty darn expensive and is the board game.
I saw this game at TrollCON and just briefly looked at it. Wanted to play it.
Next year, I'll have to get Breakdaddy and others to play it with me.
Anyway, I'm surprised that it only took 1 hour - but maybe I shouldn't be since I haven't played the game.
Glad to hear you guys liked game.

Can Ian McShane bless you in the boardgame with his surly attitude?
