Bravo! Very nice! I love doing stuff like that. For my last campaign I created a journal that a ranger in the setting had left behind - the PCs found it and got many tips from it. The thing had magic spells (silver pens work awesome for that), coinage from a far away land, sketches, a recipe for a home-made healing potion, and a whole host of other stuff. The player's loved it.
